Hi all, I tried searching on here before posting but using my phone and wasn't getting anything concrete. In short, my Mrs' 15 plate A3 2.0 s line, is due its second service (racked up 40k miles). Dealer has quoted £750 (I don't know the breakdown of what has been quoted) but that sounds ridiculous (unless they're suggesting cam change too) Any thoughts please. If anyone knows what's involved in the second service too that would be great. Thanks
£750 I paid £220 BUT I was nowhere near 40,000 mile, so who knows what they are adding on! 2nd service prices for my S3 Cheshire Oaks Audi: £365 Crewe Audi: £401.19 Liverpool Audi: £439.80 'Unit20' who is an Audi specialist £220 they used genuine Audi parts and did everything that was meant to be done/checked. If you are on FB send Martin a message with your reg and mileage and he will give you a price, at least then you will have an idea https://www.facebook.com/unit20/ or contact him from his website http://www.unit20.com/
Exactly as I suspected. Just sounds ludicrous (granted I don't know the exact details). Thanks very much for the figures, and yours is an S3. My mates GTR service is £780, so I'd suspect an A3 to be cheaper! Going to need to shop around for quotes. Unit20 sounds good, though the car is PCP so it might void the deal as usually they have to be main dealer serviced on PCP. Always great to hear of good independents though.
Nope, I thought the same as mine is on a PCP, so I sent Audi UK a message asking that very question, this was the reply: I've just ordered an A5 coupe and they gave me a px price for the S3, where it was serviced did not change the valuation. They just put the condition of the car in the BCA (British Car Auctions) tool/site and gave me the top price. Probably sell it to another garage as they are offering more.
I had mine done yesterday, albeit it is almost 4 years old and has done 35k. I had it done at Blackburn Audi, service was £325. I tried Manchester Audi and was told £370. I thought that they had a standard pricing structure so was surprised at the difference in quotes. Frustratingly on top of the service price the stronic box needs servicing at 4 years so that was an extra £170. And as the MOT is due in less than a month that got done too. Came out of the dealer almost £550 lighter in the wallet department. AND they didn't do the spark plugs as a seal between the plug/coil pack was splitting so they didn't want to risk doing the plugs and immobilising the car if the seal did split - fair enough I suppose - so I have to take it back for the plugs when they have spare parts in case the seals do fail.
IIRC my 40k service inc B/F as it was almost 2yrs old at that point was less than £450 at Southampton Audi. Cambelt isn't until 5yrs/133k miles
Thank you gents, She's called them back up and they broke the price down to include: Oil Oil filter Inspection Pollen (I think) That came to around £400 ish Then the gearbox (forgot to mention it's a DSG) which was £300 and odd. Apparently the other garages she has rang are also quoting the same. This cannot be correct, surely! I'm going to contact a couple of garages also.
This is literally £75 at my dealer here in third world country in southeastern Europe (plus air filter and fuel filter). Guess living in a **** country has its benefits.
Are the independents able to update the digital service log though? I'd have thought only Audi dealers would be permitted access to that.
Nobody likes a show off! I'm unsure mate, maybe someone else knows? I just got a quote for her from another dealer and it's came in at £596 - sot it's a start to getting the price down.
2.5 year Old A3 1.4 COD Petrol, reaching 38k on flex servicing. 19k service was: Inspection Oil change Pollen filter £130 from indi 38k service quoted: Indi: Inspection Oil change Oil filter Pollen filter Sparks (he said due at 40k) £290 Audi: Inspection Fuel filter? Pollen filter Oil change £454 inc 10% discount I know where I’ll be going although they did my pollen prematurely before. Online service book was updated last time. Oil is 19k/2years. Parts service frequency:
No it's a petrol Vertigo1. Thanks The_Ironist. Seems as though all the Audi prices are coming in around that mark for the service, but the gearbox seems an additional which nobody else has mentioned in their quotes yet. I've contacted unit 20 for a quote also. Dealerships - ugh!
Mine was updated online, I don't think it's exactly the system that Audi use, but it is one that other dealerships can see....I did write it down but can't find it. Either way as long as you have your receipts to show it's not a problem! I got a duplicate Audi paper service book from Unit20, so he stamped that for the 2nd service and I took it back to the main dealer and got them to stamp it for the first service If you buy a Merc, BMW next they can't log onto the Audi system to see what has been done, so they will be happy with old fashioned paper receipts etc!!!
