Well my Build Week 11 has been and gone .. 7 weeks later in Week 18 it is "still not released from the factory" and the dealers told me to check in with them again in a months time?!?! REALLY? How about YOU tell ME the updates! WTF is going on. Really fed up now with the whole thing, the shine of the experience has just gone!
I just wish there was a way to track exactly where the car is nowJust as an update, had an email this morning saying the car is now released and is at port of release (Emden). Status 38 and car should be with the dealer in a couple of weeks for delivery. So that's all sounding positive. Also got the VIN number and all looks good in the My Audi app by way of Spec. everything ordered/Standard/Optioned at time of order seems to be listed, so panic over. I can relax for a few weeks
I ordered an S3 Vorsprung at the end of November 21. I was told they had an order scheduled for build week 12 in the new year and that that could be allocated to me. After ordering I was given a build week of 34! Looked on various websites and have seen some advising that 27 weeks is the average time waiting for an S3 and that the S3 is less affected by the chip shortage than some other models. We will wait and see! There seems to be a delay in cars with sunroofs ie Vorsprung
Did you choose not to have the Audi Phone Box in order to get it earlier, or is that what arrived? I ordered an S3 Vorsprung Sportback and have been told by the dealer that it will arrive fully specked. On Wednesday of the this week I became the proud owner of a new S3 Vorsprung in Daytona Grey. It was ordered in May 2021 and after 5 changed build week dates it is now in my grubby little mitts. It is a pity it took so long to get here but it is well worth the wait. What a bit of kit! One thing - it didn't come with the Audi Phone Box, but everything else is to spec. View attachment 248497
Sounds about right .. Mine was built in Week 11, it was only released from the factory late last week (18), so was almost eight weeks there, and is now in port, so another 2/3 weeks before the dealer gets it for onward delivery to me. So similar timeframe. Finally had some news about my order since ordering December 2021. I have an unconfirmed build week 24 which is w/c June 13th. Leaser estimates delivery in August. Would you say this is accurate as August seems like a long wait if the car is being built mid June. What's it been like for everyone else here?
No way that’s crazy what car did you order mateSounds about right .. Very similar to my spec, but with storage pack in lieu of the y-spokes. Ordered through Arnold Clark (pch) on 3 June. Was b/w 11 but then informed it hadn't been released. Hopefully mine is en route to the dealer.A3 Sportback, 35 TFSI 150 S-Line (Comfort & Sound Pack, Extended Interior Ambient Lighting, Navarra Blue, 18in 5-Y Spoke Diamond Cut Alloys)
So nothing out of the ordinary really!
That is a surprisingly long wait. Most people I’ve seen posting on here wait between 10 to 14 months. So I got an update on my Audi today and it’s got worse (didn’t think it was possible )
Ordered an A3 S Line, Daytona grey, comfort pack, interior lighting pack, high beam assist and 18" x 8.0J '5-Y-spoke style' diamond cut wheels (nothing too fancy). Order was placed in March 2021 with an estimated Delivery of Jun 2021.
Following repeated delays I finally got an unconfirmed build date at the beginning of this year. However this has now been pushed back repeatedly as well:
Week 20 (16 May 2022) - Pushed back
Week 22 (30 May 2022) - Pushed back
Week 26 (27 Jun 2022)
I’m now wondering if my car is ever going to be delivered. If that build week doesn’t change again (which I have zero confidence about) then i’m looking at about 18 months from order to delivery.
Has anyone ever heard of Audi failing to deliver a car which has been ordered? Beginning to wonder if I will ever receive this car.
What I find really frustrating is that there have been multiple people who have ordered cars well after me who have already received their cars. I can’t work out why mine hasn’t been built and how Audi are prioritising their orders.
This has been my first Audi and will also be my last. If I could find a suitable alternative which could be delivered I’d cancel and walk away from this shambles of a company.
By far the worst car company I have ever dealt with and the worst customer service I have ever come across.
Audi UK won’t provide updates when you call. That is a surprisingly long wait. Most people I’ve seen posting on here wait between 10 to 14 months.
I think more recently, the lockdowns in Beijing and Singapore coupled with the war in Ukraine have impacted Audi (and others). Have you tried bypassing your dealer and speaking directly to Audi?
Yes it had everything, all the assistance packages. The wireless phone and usb to rear was all that was missing. You can even open the rear boot by kicking the rear bumper (sort of). I think the rear cross traffic is for when your pulling out of car parking spaces and you can’t see? It’s really useful.Does it have all the driver assistance features? Rear cross traffic alert etc
Yes on the saloon I believe it’s only power up, though someone with a saloon may correct me.I was wondering about the boot. I presume it’s not like the hatch with a button to close it? Kicking under the bumper sounds handy when you’ve got a lot of shopping to get in the boot
