I’ve had my A3 for 4 months now and I’m really not a fan of the standard silver painted alloys on the s line model. I was wondering if anyone has got them power coated to a different colour or would recommend to do that.

Ideally need to see pic of the car sideways of course.

As long as its a good powder coater, yes, just colour wise is the choice, as the cars darkish, the silver adds contrast tbh.

Maybe drop the suspension a little.

There is one on autotrader with the wheels matching the platinum grey parts of the car if you want to have a look. I’m not a fan and think they are better in silver.

I’ll attach a photo below
Surprised they aren’t diamond cut on the face. Most Audis wheels I’ve had have diamond cut faces apart from winter alloy wheels.
I think they could look quite good with a dark ish gun metal grey with a shiny diamond cut face to contrast.

Is that the standard suspension?
I think it’s the lightning. If you zoom in on the alloys the gap isn’t as big as it would appear. Not sure if the sport suspension is standard on the S-Line though or if thats just Edition 1 and above.

Yeah it's standard on S Line and above

i know what you mean i got the edition one and the wheels are not that good imo, like a satin/matte silver, as everything is black on the car id prefer black wheels, but not sure if you can just get them powder coated without alot of prep work.

The wheels were a big deal for me - saw the standard ones on the configurator and autotrader at the point of ordering, and knew these would just not do. Therefore this was one of the few optional extras I had to tick - very happy with my diamond cut grey wheels...

Yep, they're some of the nicest wheels in the entire Audi lineup imo. Very happy with them.

I just got my wheels powdercoated this week.

£200 refurbed and gloss black. Look amazing.

That was them taking the tyres off and putting them back on

I’ve finally found an a3 8y with the standard s line alloys powder coated in black. Let me know what you guys think.

All black alloys have never done anything for me. They either make the car look like a base spec or a wannabe chav. A gunmetal colour would look much nicer in my opinion.

cost cutting :) almost all audi are design for diamond cut but are one color , proboboly to safe money and on other trim or models they are diamond cut

Anyone got a source for these alloys. Dont think I want to paint the alloys want to keep it looking oem.

I upgraded to the Y spoke. Bargain for the cost and look so much better.
