    Hi All

I have been looking for fan spray washers for my 2016 A3. Lots of confusing info out there.

Anyone got part numbers that will fit and have a fan spray pattern rather than the 3 jets?

@Fatbloke Is this an easy mod to do as I much prefer the fan spray to the 3 jets.

I think you just need to attach the water pipe and heater plug and they just clip onto the car.
Others that have swapped them said it takes 2 minutes.

I've just installed some semi-fan (you still get 2 jets plus mist) heated nozzles from the A6. They're far superior to the original 3 pistol-type nozzles.

    Genuine Audi parts;

    Left - 4G0955987A
    Right - 4G0955988A

Cost £20 all in from Audi.

Are these a straight swap or as mentioned in other threads, do they need the spacer fitted also??

Straight swap, all I had to do was adjust the nozzle height slightly - this is done by winding in/out the T10 torx grub screw to the side of the nozzle.

Yep, I did this on the day I got my car. Extremely easy mod to do. Can't remember the exact details, but no tools required really, though you may find a plastic spudger of some kind useful for getting the old ones out. They just unclip from under the bonnet, the water hose has a sort of collar on that you have to get off then the hose just pulls off, and the electric cable for the heating element has a tab that you press as far as I remember. Then just swap the new one in.

I bought some off ebay, got them today and when taking the current ones out, I realised these ones weren't heated.. doh..

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Windscreen-Washer-Spray-Jet-For-VW-Golf-MK5-MK6-Passat-Jetta-Caddy-Tiguan/162509378306?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 << was these.. I put one in anyway and the fit wasn't exactly great either.

I am the worst at DIY stuff and its simple enough anyway though, I used a pry tool to help get the old ones out, though I'm always super nervous about breaking anything lol.

As these weren't heated and fitted ****, I put the original one back in.

@GD2017 did you get yours from a dealer or online?

Just fitted heated washers from an A6 direct from Audi for £11 each.
    Way better than the originals

Do you have any pictures of how they spray? You said spray with jets? Is this heated too?

99.9% sure they're the same fitment. They've been the same on most VW/AG vehicles since 2006.

Thanks for the info. The original washer jets on my car are absolutely rubbish. I will definitely upgrade now.

Are these the ones? They look a doddle to fit and far better than the three jet originals. Do they leave the trail of water down the bonnet on the A/S3 like in this Youtube video?

Very similar, if not identical. The swap is as simple as it gets really. No, the reason he has a trickle on the bonnet is due to the nozzle position being incorrectly set (too high) - this can be adjusted on the new unit by using a T10 torx grub-screw to alter the height of the trajectory.

Just fitted the fan jets this afternoon, simplicity itself. After a little adjustment here and there they were spot on far superior to the original ones. Thank you GD2017 for the heads up mate.

While at the dealers I noted that the new Q2 uses fan jets.

You can get full-fan type ones, they're mentioned in other threads. My opinion is that the ones we've bought are the best value-for-money nozzle upgrade. You're looking at over £60 for the other part number (fan).

What’s the difference between the a6 ones and the full fan?

The A6 ones are part jet, part fan mist.

The other ones are full fan mist.

    Snap!

Surely it costs Audi more to have parts which are all different but cross compatible rather than having the same jets on all the cars??

    You would have thought so!

Got mine today, fitted in a few minutes... only negative with these is the torx screwdriver you need to adjust.. I have a couple of sizes , just not the right one... doh!

I heard the pistol jets are better at motorway speeds than the fan type.
The opposite at slower speeds with the fan type being better.

The part number I referenced would be the perfect in between according to that theory then?

I have the full fan type on a 2017 Ford Kuga ST Line and I drive that regularly on the M25 and I have to admit they work brilliantly at all speeds.
