Hello,

Have had the car sitting for over a month, and when I tried to start it and all the dash lights flicker and it wont turn over, can I just jumpstart an auto diesel

It's no different to any car.

I would put the battery on charge first and see if you can start it without a jump. Sometimes you can get issues with voltage spikes or the alternator having to work really hard to charge a very flat battery. This applies to all cars not only auto diesels.
If you don't have a battery charger then go ahead and jump start it.

Thanks Darren and Karl,

This is the first modern (ish) car I've had in a long time. I take it that the dashboard lights flickering and the clicking sound is just down to not enough power, the central locking works fine.

Cheers

Yes the battery voltage is too low to start the car. You shouldn't really let it get that low as it can cause damage to the battery and you will end up needing another one.
