Hello all,

my old cluster 8P0 920 930 Q has eeprom error and I've bought other newer cluster 8P0 920 931 (06 year), everything is working except ABS warning with esp on, parking brake blinking. No erros in any module.
My ABS module code is 1K0 907 379 K. There is nothing to code in newer cluster related to abs.

Used this to check coding:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Brake_Electronics_(MK60) Mine is 0023147.

I’m not certain but check channel 37 on the cluster. Is there any value?

The security access channel as above may need changing to suit your car.

OK, will report back after checking that 37 channel...

Adaption channel 37 is Brake pad wear indicator. Stored value 1. Mine supports brake pad wear indicator

My old coding before I replaced pump with mk60ec1. Worked with facelift cluster.

OK, I've updated ABS module, now it is 1K0 907 379 AC... Newer Instrument Cluster works, bu I have another problem...

01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500)
004 - No Signal/Communication.

Power steering is working. It's a coding problem or what? :(

01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500)
01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
  • When found in Brake Electronics (MK60)
    • Incorrect Steering Aid Characteristic Setting
    • Incorrect Steering Aid Warning Lamp Setting
    • Driver Steering Recommendation (DSR) in activated in Brake Electronics but not in the Steering Aid Control Module or vice versa.
Possible Solutions
  • When found in Brake Electronics (MK60)
    • Check Brake Electronics Coding
    • Check Steering Aid Characteristic Setting
    • Check Steering Aid Warning Lamp Setting
    • Check Driver Steering Recommendation (DSR) Setting
Could be because you’ve updated the abs module.

This is about implausible signal, mine gives no signal/communication. No MIL just the fault. Everything works fine. Maybe just ignore? What about dsr? I can't change it in adaptation. It shows 1 in abs module adaptation channel 57. Or maybe I don't have to

I think I found it on the rosstech site, if I remember rightly it involve lock to lock the driving forward then turning and the reversing and turning, can’t remember exactly how it was done

Yes, done this. It isn't related. This is called espt test. And in test mode abs mil is on and esp starts to blink on hard brake pedal press...

Hello guys, may I ask you what happend with that case? I have the same issue after retrofitting a DIS cluster:

11.2004 A3 2.0TDi 6M FWD
Old cluster: 8P0 920 900 D
Old cluster coding: 0004003
DIS cluster: 8P0 920 930 K
DIS cluster coding: 0004003
MK60 ABS: 1K0 907 379 K
orig. ABS coding: 0023174 (it has not being lost or changed)
Car starts and runs, onboard comp. is working properly, but ABS, ASR, ESP are not working- same flashing lights as on the pic, posted in the initial post from labanauskas.
G85, G200, G201 sensors successfuly adapted.
Single fault code of the car in VCDS is ABS: 01044 - Module incorrectly coded / 008 - Implausible signal.

It is about an incompatibility between the DIS cluster and MK60 ABS or what? Should I search for another cluster and how to select the proper one for my car?

Yup, abs module is too old....

Great news! Now I finally know, that I must just find another cluster :).

Is there any chart or something, that can help me identifying the right cluster for my ABS? I’ve searched the web and especially Ross-tech website for info (they have one big chart for the steering module types), but nothing found...

Or you can change abs module (pain in the *** to replace). But then you will run into problem, that power steering module will be too old for abs module... I had this sw problem. Car was driving without probs. But now the car is sold... ;(

I'd need to check the cluster versions in etka to see if it's compatibility issue, but have you checked your pr codes sticker in the boot spare wheel area to code the and module according to your setup as it says incorrectly coded.

Did one yesterday tbh fixed via correct coding.

Tbh, I wouldn’t go for ABS change, as I prefer finding the right cluster with no red modules on the VCDS Auto-Scan after the mod.

Yes, I’ve checked them and it stays 1ZE for the brakes, which according to the module coding configurator chart is the same pr code for the old and the new sensor cluster (both FN III 54 15”/16”). Anyway, I tried different combinations, but then except the wrong coded module fault, it always appears one more - for a mechanical fault. After coding it again with the initial code, only 01044 fault remains.

Meanwhile, what I decided to do and already done, was to find a car in the scrapyards, with exactly the same ABS module part no. and ABS pump part no., as my car, but equipped with DIS cluster.

After a whole day of phone calls, I finally found a car with ABS 1K0 907 379 K, ABS pump 1K0 614 517 H and the cluster turned out to be 8P0 920 930 F (15.03.2004). I bought it and currently my car is in the workshop for coding the F IC, so fingers crossed guys!

Will report the result, once it’s ready.

No matter of the end result today, thank you for the advices, they’re really highly appreciated, as in my area, there’re not so much retrofitters and specialists available!

Here it is. Not so readable after all these years, but hopefully still there.

Took the car few mins ago. All warn lights gone guys! Woohoo! :racer:

I'm skeptical tbh, what's the coding of the modules now?
