Hi all, I picked up my A3 2.0 tdi last night (just sold my A4 B6 2.5 tdi) but bit worried now. Driving down the motorway, as I hit about 80mph it started to lose power and went into like limp mode. Once I stopped and turned the engine off and back on it worked fine again. Does anybody know what the possible causes could be? I'm gonna get vagcom plugged into it tonight but if anyone may know the possible cause that'd be amazing!

As above, overboost fault code should be logged.

Most likely caused by sticking vanes in the turbo. Possible to clean it out properly by removing and stripping the turbo down, or taking the opportunity to replace it.

Thanks for all the replies chaps. I'll get it connected into VCDS tonight - sounds like it's time for a good strip down then!

Have heard of people using Mr muscle with good results, seriously.

Mr Muscle does dissolve carbon deposits. Check some of my older posts for guides on how to do it.

It works for some people and not for others. A full strip and clean is always better.
