Hi,
My 11 plate A3 has just had a timing belt, aux belt & intermediate (?) service. As I was driving to work the next day (driving for about 15 mins) at around 60mph I saw the flashing orange 'engine management' light & experienced a drop in power, ****** all acceleration. Limped back to the guy that did the work who put his diagnostics on it (not vag-com) and said there's an intermittent EGR fault. He cleared the fault, I drove off but it came on again. Switched the engine off & back on & fault had gone but came back within minutes. The guy said it was ok to drive so carried on painfully slowly to work. Next day coming home from work, the fault had gone but I seem to be doing less MPG, probably by around 6-7.

I don't get why the fault didn't come back on when driving home & does anyone have any ideas as to the drop in MPG ?

Cheers :)

Forgot to ask, why would a new timing belt & service cause this, coincidence? It was running fine before.
