a3 1.4 cod startup noise

Hi everyone

I've had the a3 sport cod since march at about 2500 mile it started make a distinct whining noise on startup
and very loud rattle until the car started to move.this only happens first thing in the morning or when the cars been
standing for a period 5 or 6 hours the noise is similar to that of a post by redhotrobbo a year ago.
has anyone had this issue resolved.
the car is with the Audi dealership trying to identify the problem.
would appreciate any imput.

Does the whining noise stop when the engine starts, if so it might be the electric fuel pump pressuring up the fuel lines as, with the very high pressure injectors, this needs to happen before the engine will start when cold.

yes the whine stops when the engine starts, but the rattle doesn't until the car has moved maybe these are separate issues, this only started 3 weeks ago.
