I would like to lower my 2006 A3 2.0 FSI on H&R lowering springs only. I also got my hands on a set of low mileage S-line dampers (55mm diameter). The official lowest H&R springs available for A3’s (1.6, 1.9TDi, 2.0FSi, 2.0T FSi, 2.0TDi) are 50mm (Part no. 29260-1) but I’ve been looking for 55mm ideally!

I found a set of 55mm H&R lowering springs (Part no. 29149-1) but they are for an Skoda Octavia Mk2 2.0FSi 4x4, 2.0TDi 4x4 (1Z 2005 onwards).

I checked ETKA and notice that the whole Front Suspension, Struts diameter etc on a Skoda Octavia Mk2 4WD are the same as A3’s with Front strut diameter 55mm.

Now my question... supposing these 55mm H&R springs fit my A3 in conjunction with my fitted S-line dampers, would I technically achieve a slightly lower height than the 50mm H&R springs?

Also, do you think I would have any ride problems in terms of safety?

P.S
I am aware of coilovers and I know I can achieve my exact desired height but can't be ***** with those! So please no recommendations on coillies!!! Lol
