Cheers rob.
Will try it tomorrow!
You're welcome ;o)
Factory setting is 8 mines now set to 16.
Cheers rob.
Will try it tomorrow!
I tried this one on my car with halogen lights, it only gives you two options. Fogs with side lights or fogs with dipped beam.Yup and this was is in fact the default behaviour of my coming home / leaving home lights. Myself I changed my fog bulbs to white light Give me a few mins and I will edit this post in order to add the coding you need to remove the fog lights from the CH/LH function.
Edit - This is the Adaptation you need to change in order to remove Fog Lights from the CH/LH Function:
Yours should be set to "Fog Light" or "Nebellicht". I cannot remember the wording for the exact options available but here you can set the following functionality:
- 09 - Cent Elect > Adaptations > (4)-Comfort illumination-Coming Home Leuchten
Hope this helps!
- DLR Only
- Fog Lights Only
- DRL and Fog Lights
3) When turning off the car automatically enables the handbrake
This would be a nice little mod! Not even sure if it's possible but I'll keep an eye out.
How everyone replies to these replies... look hereAnyone in or near glasgow able to do my 15 s3 ?
I'm looking help with vcds on adjusting the fuel gauge. I wanted to fine tune mine to how I like it. plus the mmi screen, any way to have it turn off the unit and keep it down everytime I turn off the car? so when I get back into the car its off till I turn on the radio or some sort of mmi function.
This I am not too sure about to be honest. Will need to read up on it but my "play time" this week is limited. Might be a few days before I can confirm how this is meant to workthanks for that. I so do I adjust each sensor (1-4)?
or
do I just do #5 and change that?
I haven't gone into the setting yet. I'm getting my info before I hook it up to do this.
There are a couple things I haven't figured out yet for the 8V model and haven't found any information regarding these mods yet.
1) When the engine is running (whilst in gear) and you open the driver's door the EPB automatically engages. I'd like to disable that function. The only information I found for this was for the C7 models.
2) Turn off the seatbelt warning if you're not strapped in and the car is moving. The only information I found for this was for the C7 as well.
3) I forgot exactly at what point this happens, but whilst the engine is running and in gear, you open the driver's door for a certain amount of time the engine automatically cuts off. I'd also like to disable that function.
I just took a look with vcds and I see the items. I couldn't do it yet as my tank of gas is full so even if I adjust it now I wouldn't see the change. so ill need to wait till I'm down a few bars of gas before I can try it out.Not possible to have the MMI screen function this way, is something many many people have been asking about
As for the Fuel, this is not something I have tested myself so cannot really advise but I believe you will be wanting to change the following adaptations:
I am not understanding this 100% as I have not really done much reading around it but:
- 17 - Instruments
- Adaptations
- (1)-Offset for tank calibration values-Offset sensor 1
- (2)-Offset for tank calibration values-Offset sensor 2
- (3)-Offset for tank calibration values-Offset sensor 3
- (4)-Offset for tank calibration values-Offset sensor 4
- (5)-Offset for tank calibration values-Complete tank calibration
- Range is -12.8 to +8 with -12.8l being the factory default.
- <0 moves the needle down.
- =0 no change/movement
- >0 move needle up.
I would advise googling around for "VCDS Tank Calibration" for further information unless someone more in the know that myself can chime in
- +1 = needle moves up by ~1/16 up
- +2 = needle moves up by ~⅛ up
Yesterday when I drove out to take some pictures I just found out that if you're stopped say at the red light then take off your setbelt (whilst in drive), the engine will cut off automatically. I learnt this because I was taking off my jacket at a red light (foot on the brakes) lights changed green, tried to accelerate and nothing happened!! Had to reselect Park or Neutral just to reignite the engine... Embarassing 5 seconds!
Hope someone will be able to find somewhere in VCDS to turn off these functions. I won't have much free time this week to poke around VCDS.... these auto engine cutoff settings are extremely aggravating!

I am already doing that and its kinda tiresome to keep doing it everytime I get out of the car. again the main purpose is to automate this feature rather than keep doing it manually.Push and hold down the Volume button and that switch off Entertainment and keep the screen down when you start the car
does anyone know how to activate autohold feature?
autohold is when at a stop light we press down on the brake and it keeps it activated till we press on the accelerator. this way we don't need to keep pressing on the brake pedal till its time to go again.
do you think this will solve my engine start stop issues here if i disable the start stop function entirely within vcds?Pressing the start stop button to turn it off will stop this happening at lights, not the perfect fix but helps!
A little OT but wondered if any of you VCDS experts might know - a friend of friend has a Diesel non Quattro A7 and using VCDS says they were able to enable AWD - is this possible? (I did some googling but couldn't see any reference to anyone having done this before - are all the physical bits needed for this present on all A7s and just not enabled?!).

Some dealers do but most don't really want to get involved. For those that do it's normally only for very simple / basic mods, ACC menu etc. Dealers use a different system called VAS/ODIS, and lot of hat we talk about here is not always obvious to them as the labels can be different.Quick question guys, has anyone had any luck getting their main stealer to perform any of these software mods on their cars whilst they are in for service?
That explains why my dealer never got back to me when I asked for a few mods to be done...Some dealers do but most don't really want to get involved. TBH it's better to check the Audi-Sport VCDS Map for a member near your location and drop them a PM. Can hook you up if you are near North LondonThat explains why my dealer never got back to me when I asked for a few mods to be done...
Thanks for the offer DJAlix..TBH it's better to check the Audi-Sport VCDS Map for a member near your location and drop them a PM. Can hook you up if you are near North London
is there any reason why they would reset the VCDS during say an MOT or service, or is it untouched?TBH it's better to check the Audi-Sport VCDS Map for a member near your location and drop them a PM. Can hook you up if you are near North London
Depends on what works you are having done and if there are any mandatory software updates they need to apply TBH. If the Audi network flags that an update is needed then any mods relating to that update will be wiped... example if you have VIM and say Lap Timer active and there is an update to 5F you will loose VIM but Latimer will remain.is there any reason why they would reset the VCDS during say an MOT or service, or is it untouched?
I don't know the answer I'm afraid but the joy of VCDS is that you can try it, if nothing changes then just undo it?

Stop start is disabled if seatbelt removed or door opened, and has to be manually restarted, for obvious safety reasons.
