So... After having my new a3 for 3 months and my mother having her 2012 8p convertible, I think she was jealous of the new shape, she went up the audi garage today to have a look at the new convertible.. Obviously fell in love with it instantly and purchased one. So she's ordered it in glacier white, sport with satnav as an extra as it was a deal audi are doing. Build is week 13 (this week commencing tomorrow) and pick up should be around the 2nd week in April our dealer thinks.
Beats the 6 months wait I had to deal with !

She previously only had a 1.6tdi but you can only get the 2.0tdi 150 ATM so she's had that.. Think she was trying to copy me in all honesty.

Will post some pictures when it arrives !

Wow, should be fantastic. I presume the car must have been in build anyway and she just liked the spec?

I must admit I was having the conversation with my wife last night about a euro road trip we are doing in September (stelvio, lake como etc) and we were trying to decide if we take our Z4 (2003 3.0i) or if we take the new S3 SB. It's tough as a convertible in the alps is just heaven (and the 3.0i straight 6 sounds great too) or do we really see what the S3 can do and it's a far better cruiser. As a throw-away comment I said I should sell the S3 and Z4 and get an S3 Conv!

The cabriolet is a lovely looking car, if I was in the market for one I think I would have a S-Line in Daytona Grey though...

I had a look at the A3 cabriolet yesterday thought it was great.

IMHO it even looked better than the TT and A5 cabriolets which were next to it!

Not that i know of but i wasnt there when she ordered. I dont think there is a MASSIVE waiting time on the convertibles... She was originally going for a TT but i told her to wait to look at the A3 cab. Which she did and she prefered it alot more to the TT and all the running costs were alot cheaper... e.g £20 tax etc.
