Ahh yeah I see, 8P1 8PA and 8PV are the model numbers and there were three types of 8P1 model changes 8P1 for a couple of years then the 8P2 for another couple of years and then the 8P3 for the rest.
No they can’t - blame Photobucket, who wanted everyone to have their own private account which was silly money. Ironically, some forum members still load using Photobucket.
Most difference are made in the bodywork and to later models in electrics too. A3 8P1 (2003 - 2005) 5 door 3 door s-line hence the fogligt trims and the "aggresive" grille. A3 8P2 (2005 - 2008) Different front and rearbumper, first model from the 8P series that came with DRL and more robust fogligt trims. First model to come with the backlights that have a "LED" band in them. 5 door 3 door A3 8P3 (2008 - 2012) Again, different front foglight trims, bi-xenon headlights with xenon DRL and the chrome trims everywhere (inside and outside the car) 5 door s-line hence the foglight trim again, some badges but overall the same car. S3 This car also came in some forms but not sure which and when. The difference in A3 and S3 is again the frontbumper (foglights and grille). Also has chrome mirrors. Basicly the same car again. Inside there is a bit more luxury, this about nicer trims in the door, leather S3 seats etc. RS3 And again, front bumper, mirrors and more luxury inside.
@henkkeumus think youve got a couple of the dates a bit wrong, plus the 8p1 is an 8p2, and the s3/rs3 models arent right as s3 came in 8p2 and 8p3 style, rs3 came in 8p3 only. 8p1 (2003-2004) 8p2 (2005-2008) 8p2 s3 8p3 (2008-2013) the trims etc arent important as you can still swap bumpers on an 8p2 SE to Sline, but not from an 8p2 to 8p3. the 8p1/2/3 thing came about because of that reason i think (before my time) as people with 8p1 wanted to change to 8p2/8p3 and wanted to simply change bumpers not realising it was wings/bonnets etc too.
@samisnake is correct. @henkkeumus please edit your post mate because we don't need any more confusion about this topic.
Not entirely correct. Today I learned the S3 also came as a 8P3.. Somebody on dutch forum sold one. I tracked the numberplates. MJ '09 Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 with Tapatalk
Yeah mate, I had said that Easiest way to tell 8p3 is if it doesn't have indicators on the wings, it's an 8p3. 8p3 have indicators in the mirrors
