8P1 2.0Tdi Sport with 18'' RS6 and Eibach Sportlines (pic heavy)

Sarah's A3 have you got any pics of the front end paint job? I did ponder on it but saw some pics done by amateurs and it didn't look good, I'm so undecided about spending any more money as planning on changing the car in September, CARS CARS CARS! (saw the thread about the front indicators, I did this too, easy and big improvement!) P.S. New RS6s are a nice looking wheel, take more cleaning though....

Phil_W, ebay, circa £425 to £450 delivered (reps of course but new with tyres), I was lucky, found some that are made by the firm who make the wheels for some jap manufacturers, fairly light and as far as I can tell good quality

Wai-Fan, Aye, they do the lot there, you'd have to go in to Moss and have a word as regards price, if you don't get booked in there there's a place just off Monks Cross (Motorworld I think) that I had a car done once (the Toledo further up the thread), think they only charged me about £100 to fit springs and shocks all round, ask for Rick. Worked out well. Tip me the nod if you see me about, you'll spot my plate I'm sure. :salute:

I've just bought some RS4 reps but paid £600 with good tyres as I didn't want that cheap stuff they give with these alloys on ebay.

Here are some pics of the front, not too bad and will do until I can find a new bumper and bits. As for the new RS6s, I think they are worth it, I'll just use the poorboys alloy sealant on them.

This is the issue I'm having. I'm running Dunlop Sport Maxx all round and don't want to surrender a load of grip just to have bigger wheels. I routinely drive on fun roads at speed, so don't want solid tyres that make tarmac feel like ice! Any pics of your car with the wheels on matey?

Sick of typing Sarah's A3 do you go by anything else? The front looks really well, by far the best I've seen! Is it paint or is it a vinyl coat as I notice it's got a nice Grey finish that keys in well with the grille, and you've done the chrome sections on thebottom of the upper grille and upper portion of the lower, looks really well. Also I notice your front indicators give off the same blue oily reflection, think we have the same ones! Lookin good.

Are you doing 19" new style RS6 or sticking at 18"?

Lol! yes Sarah (or blu) lol
Thank you and it only took an hour or so plus drying time. No vinyl, its a satin black paint from Halfords and Chrome trim strips near as damm it the same width as the original. Thought it looked better doing the bottom and top chrome bits from the grills so the eye is fooled more to it being the single larger grill.
Yes I think the bulbs must be the same, Diadems, they give a lovely soap bubble or petrol effect colour wise...much better eh and easy to do. Our two cars could be related lol, yours too is looking good, esp the lowering.
Not sure on the alloys, the 18s will give a better ride as I already have the sports supsension, but I do like my 19s, so I'll have to have a think. :eyebrows:

Sarah, 19's all the way, I think if you wanna change them you should go up a stage in size I reckon, have you seen the Black one on A5 twist type wheels? I'll load it up if not, would look v nice on your V6! I was thinking about the front on yours, what about calling it a 8P1.5....

Indicators were a nice move for sure, managed to only take 2 screws out to gain access, then lost a bit of skin on the way out! Glad I did it though. You thinking about the ambient lighting upgrade? It's a quick, cheap, effective mod.

Yeh I am tempted to go for 19s as I had them on my A6 and BMW. But I'm not sure if it will upset the quattro etc but I may give it a go, I can always change them back lol
Not seen the black one but I did see a set of A5 silver alloys on Ebay and was very tempted, different look so may be nice.
Good name for the front lol, it may catch on.
Ambient lighting? do you mean the W8?? Mine has the red W8s and black headlining, love it, gives a great atmosphere.
Am also looking for the alu door trims, mine has the piano black which is great but I want it all alu, saw 2 sets selling on Ebay last week but went for quite a bit, I'll keep looking, its not urgent.

Sarah, sounds like you got the ambient lighting already. Black headlining and a sunroof, bet that's nice! Here's the wheels I personally think you should be bunging on the 8P1.5:

If you're the owner of the car (I got the pic from on here) I think it looks AWESOME on these.

Do it Sarah, buy these wheels to beef up the mega spec V6. Mudflaps for mine next I think.

Ooohhh i'm tempted but have also seen this. MADLUKE has done the conversion and added the alloys I mentioned, it was his car that made me think about getting them. So its a 50/50 on either at the mo...money allowing in time lol
Yes the dark headlining and sunroof is brilliant, to be honest it took some finding to find the car and glad I did. Loved my A6 (new shape) but this is just pure fun all the way.
(MADLUKE - hope you dont mind me using your pic, car looks fantastic!)

I think I'd do the A5's Sarah, not that Mad Lukes doesn't look slick cos it does, or will when he gets bonnet on and the bumper re painted (Luke, loving the black optics mate)

N8 and Paul, 8P3 does look hard as hell, I'd even go as far as to say at 1st glance I thought it was S3! I'm thinking of those A5 wheels in 19 and N8 you'll love this COILOVERS, if I keep the A3. FTW

Sarah, get purse / credit card out and get the 19's on that 8P1.5 (P.S. missed out on an S-Line bumper with grilles and fogs etc unmarked in Silver for £250 the other day) gutted.

I'm open to thoughts on what anyone thinks my A3 needs next but only little subtle bits as i'm still a bit un decided, talking maybe LCR front splitter or maybe something similar, what do people think about mud flaps these days? (OEM ones of course, no plastic sheet in Red with a Sparco sticker on as seen on some total **** weeds 5dr Punto on the M1 yesterday!)

Just uploading to Photobucket whilst beasting the living daylights out of the Yamaha system in the office at home whilst my new wheel hating lady is out and found these A5 pics to motivate some wheel decisions, I think I'm gonna spend some money this weekend and do 19's I really do! Anyhow, A5 was kindly on loan to me for a couple of days whilst without a car, my mother loaned me the Megane further up the drive, i just couldn't do it so got my mitts on the A5, top colour but it's the wheels I'm wanting to draw attention to! OOOOF OEM+

Yeh I was after the silver one too!!! see the race is on lol, least you dont need the washer jet holes too!!! I forgot the end time!!!!!
Oi! mud flaps are good!
My thoughts are a rear roof spoiler, ends the back off nicely! and paint the calipers! just my thoughts.

Nice! love the RS6 wheels. I've just picked up my new A3 and I'm considering RS6 replicas... how much did they set you back? if you don't mind me asking.

Also, What wheels are these? (I'm an Audi n00b)

sline4.jpg

Word up and welcome Gee.

The wheels above are the new RS6's, they're on some of the other new range too, A5's etc

My wheels were £430 delivered from an ebay shop, replicas and budget tyres, I drive in traffic or on the motorway for 30k per year so wasn't fussed for awesome tyres.

You need to get pics of your car uploaded to the site no matter if it's basic, uprated or anything. You'll see the thread near the top of the 1st 8P page.

That was actually a micky take! Anyhow, off out to go and stare at boobs in bars around york!

Thanks both!

Will post some pictures later on.

N8, where and when is ultimate Dubs? I read about the shows in PVW but only ever been to one. It wouls help if I was there whoring out rare as hell wheels to feed my bizzareinterest in oddly painted wheels :rockwoot: I'm thinking of going to this thing in Leicester in May perhaps. There's one in leeds that I took my Bora to a couple of years back it was good and nice as it was only down the road.

Gee, where's the pics at???

Taxi into York lastnight was a little unusual, shame it ain't sunny and bright at 7ish on a cold Feb night...

It's in serious consideration N8! Not far off either. Assume you're there then?

Cheers.

N8, you're right I do need to attend, just did the figures on Ultimate Dubs and it's roughly 2.5hr drive so nothing silly. Oh yesh....

Was at Moss Tyres today and asked about lowering. It seemed a reasonable price I think, only thing I need to think of now is whether it would be alright on the standard 17" sport alloys.

They are stunning, could be a new contender for my S3, somethign a bit different!

love the look of this mate, nice job!

im really new to the mod business ... i have a 2.0 tdi sportback (2006) and am seriously interested in doing this. where's the best place to get these (Eibach springs) ? how much? and can i do it myself ;)

sorry for such noob questions, guess we gotta start somewhere... any help would be appreciated.

Wai-Fan, I think it would pretty smart (much as Smudge Don), what you could do is get a decent pic of your car and stick it in the Photographic section on the site and request someone to lower the car on photoshop, I did it and a skilled guy did the chop for me really quickly, let me know how you get on!

Mo, roughly £150 for the springs delivered from Damian at DPM motorsport (google search or type it in the search, the guys a member on here), I've now done a few hundred miles on these springs and they're really good! You could fit them yourself if you wanted, it just depends on how skillfull you are, I prefer to pay and have someone do the job and not have to worry about it all going wrong. Post some pics up in the pics section...

Glasgowaudi, Your S3 would look awesome on a set of A5 twists! Hope you get some and get pics up on here. :jump:

cheers Ant, will look into getting some of these and think ill get someone to fit them. anyone know any good Audi specialists in the North East? could do with finding someone regular up here anyway.

also Ant, do you know what alloys those are you have? did you fit them or did they come with the car, looking to replace my stock audi aport alloys and love the look of them.
