Hi Chaps ill do my best to explain

Had an S3 all weekend from work it was real fun pretty quick too .

Absoltute pleasure to drive power every gear when ever you wanted it made an awesome sound too through the REVS .. Think my brother had a big hard on for the day..

Took him and 2 of his mates for a drive to southport on sunday..

Found my feet with the 4wd but still unsure on the best way to take roundabouts and bends in general. Think it would just let go without letting you know if you get me

The only complaint i could say was the GOD DAM ESP really ****** you off when cornering hard ,,, cuts all power its ****** dangerous

Right SO HERES WHAT HAPPENED NEXT:::

Goes to lunch with my MD and we was talking about my new car Which is a

Scirroco TSI with :
vienna leather
DSG
Electric seats
winter pack
reverse parking sensors
flat tyre indicator
dynopack audio
smokers pack
and a few others can.t come to mind at the minute

Due to arrive in 10+weeks

Anyhow he just said how did you find the S3 which i took from work for the weekend which has just gone,,,,so i started realing off my findings as he knows im a real car nut

He then proceeds to say do you want that for the remainder of the lease which is another year its currently a 57reg on 3 year deal instead of the ROCCO which they will give to the Top sales Lad?

Now i loved the Audi and love the Rocco what would you do opinions welcome.

They both have there PROS AND CONS and argubably the S3 is a better car but i love DSG for the mileage and the rocco is well ,, like rather new.

So at the moment the only thing i can think of is having the S3 a year then getting a new ROC

What would you Lads and Lassies do in this unsolving Dilema

The S3 has 35k on the clock and full leather centre armrest upgraded stereo sytem and a few others . not sure what you get standard on them?

Its Black with silver wing mirrors and Black Leather.

ITS A 57REG with a private plate S3 on it

Its a lovly car to drive sheer quality everything is just right .. No effort at all steering is light and perfect. Gearbox posItioned peRfect as with armrest..

But the Rocco is newer and i find the shape of the S3 a little bland in my eyes

(Flame Jacket on now)lol..

But inside is amazing all my friends thought it was just seriously class in everyway they were so envious... in a nice way of course well hope

Hand on heart the S3 will destroy the Rocco thats a Fact ive driven both ... The S3 does 160mph on the analogue dial and says 155mph on the digital dash and that was with 4 Grown men in

So many plus points and ive had no time with the Rocco

I know it sounds silly but not sure if i like the 4WD seriously,, i ve always liked FWD cars and are so use to them

Wish it was DSG as well ..Although the gearbox is awesome in manual format

****** hell so many thoughts going through my head ,, there is no rush just yet so have to really have a deep think...

My missus didn.t like the S3 said it made her feel sick ,, her words was it pulls you back too much ...lol.... I said only if you drive it fast...lol...

This is what Happens Next That afternoon in work::

It appears there is some method in some madness.. The sales manager gave me the S3 to take home this weekend??? I thought it was rather strange but jumped at the chance?

It appears later this afternoon he has asked for a range rover sport,, because he is getting a dog he is only 26years old ... I told him its time for pipe and slippers ,,, he is from Bolton...lol... Flame jacket on now ..lol..


Have the feeling he is trying to get his Range Rover convincing the Directors the S3 can come to me and the Rocco to the Top sales Lad ..... God dam Salesmen hey,,, but this is how it works:

We get £400 notes for car allowance a month,, so we usually get Golfs or passats with goodies on i.e Leather DSG and the likes and usual good spec GT Sport or the likes

So i have been doing really well at work and asked for Rocco its 460-480ish a month with the 80% extra boxes i ticked ..

It seems a lot for the ABOVE but its solely down to mileage and i can do 25k a year for 3 years equates 75k which is a lot to a leasing company..

So the S3 comes in at £525 a month till next november 2010 so i pay £125 a month out of my money,, not mithered as i could not afford to buy and run a car like that daily..

I get Insurance in that plus servicing,, tyres,exhaust..etc.., + Audi assist + fuel card the lot so £125 isn.t too bad.

Ive spoken to the Director who i get on with great and his words is , If you take the S3 we can get another Rocco to your spec next November???

Im thinking he is keeping the Sales Manager Sweet for his Range Rover sport ,,, as in the current climate we have starting picking up immensely and for a 26year old lad he is very good at his job even if he is from Bolton....lol...

So anyway i turn round to my Boss MD and say

"well if i take the S3 Second hand ,,, talking like cheeky here next November i want the Scirroco R (Same Engine more or less as the S3 )".

And he said
" Well how much are they",, I said " About the same or a bit less than the S3" ,,, so he replied " Well i can.t see that being a problem then".....

So it might end up better for me in the long run...

Ive since texted all my car buddies who know about there cars and everyone of them said take the S3 its a No brainer..

I really like the shape of the Rocco though ..

So as Sales Managers always seem to talk s hit and have a answer ,, he said its simple he gave me a little heads up of the top consistent sales Lad and said " Just swap between each other whenever you want ...No problem on the company insurance policy".

Going Back to the S3:

Driving position was perfect as was the gearbox and steering posistion ,, the stereo wasn.t too shabby either..

Just thought i would share it with you as it kept me smiling all weekend went through nearly 2 tanks of petrol

First stages of S3 Tuning:

First step REMAP been speaking to REVO and it sounds good..

Who gives the best stage 1 Remap and why ? Peoples opinions welcome?

Anyone been through several maps and care to share there findings . Ive searched heavily and i know theres many answers

Still a little confused(It dosen.t take much....imao...).


But maps and mappers are always updating and things change quite often so would some fresh advice?

well...i'd go for s3. did that few months ago audi is higher class, better built quality, faster, better looking (my opinion). you should try both cars on the wet roads and you will start to like 4wd. for a spiritual driving and fast cornering you should turn esp off (in any car, not only s3 my opinion) because it don't help. and with the remap you can get 300+ hp, and with intake and exhaust 320+ hp. and as i hear from guys that have done that it brings s3 to the another level.
at the end decision is all yours (hope you'll make right one )

Hello MancDave welcome to the forum!

S3 all day everyday! you'll get the best of both worlds as you will still get your sirocco next year! and you also dont have to pay for your fuel to run that beast! which puts a hole in your pocket alone!

Well here's my view. You like the S3 and you'll get a Scirroco as your next car, maybe even the R version, so why not get the S3 now and change it in a year when you're bored with the S3. I wish I could change cars more often but as I have to pay for everything, its not that cheap. Plus I'm sure you could live with a manual for a year.

But, and its a big but, if your missus doesn't like the S3, do you know how much grief you are going to get from her!!!!!

S3 would be my choice.. although the Rocco isn't that far behind in my book.

So anyhow been speaking to a Revo Agent Votex in congleton and a guy called Mike there Head mapper.

Anyone dealt with Votex, the guy seemed to know his stuff.

I was thinking of getting the Remap done there with the autech fuel pump upgrade.

P.s missus isn.t too mithered really about the car ,, she just hates fast cars full stop...

First of all :sign_welcome: to the forum. Now i think thats the longest thread i've ever read through, so well done Thought it wasnt gonna end ha! As every one else said get the S3 and then in a year you can get your Scirrocco! S3 on another level to the Scirrocco Tsi all together. You will notice the difference in power aswell and quailty. I'm not really a fan of the Scirrocco maybe that will change once i see a nice modded one! Defo Revo stage 1 remap will bring your car to life! And you wont regret it! Loads of members can comment on Revo as a company. Why dont you take your missus out in the S3 again and drive a bit slower so she dont get thrown back into her seat and feel sick lol! Then she be like aw well its not that bad.

Does what it says on the tin.
Makes a fast car, really fast.
Perfect stepping stone to bonkers tuning if you want to go that far.

Would make the Rocco fast too btw, just not as fast or useable as a REVO`d S3.

Wow that is a mega long post!

I'd go for the Audi. The rocco is a nice car, but there is just something about it that I just don't like... Residuals are supposed to be better than the Audi though.

The rear seats are really small too... but hey who cares about that.

Absolutely, significant improvement no mistake, real world quick.

Its even more apparent when youve been running REVO for a period and then flash it back to stock and the car feels..... S - L -O - W.....

Even the free trial makes a huge difference Auldreekie on here has just done this recently.

Well i put it down to 3 maps ,, well sorta of 4???

REVO OR GIAC = Coming in rather close

Then it was Custom Code or APR

Now ive heard people swap from map to map on lots of other vehicles and tell me good or bad over either maps..

But on this site it appears REVO or GIAC are the preferred maps For the S3.

Although Awesome GTI is like 10min drive for me and is the closest tuner They are APR mappers

So i am in a predicament here , how much do i read before i take the plunge

Anyone had any heads up between different mapped S3's with next to the same mods on cars???

I know 2 cars are never the same but you get the idea

the rocco wouldnt be as good as 4wd drive no way the s3 would kill it but a 4wd rocco well that would be nice id deffo consider one but i have to like an interior on a car or i just wouldnt bother with it ....

It it True the OEM Map holds a lot back with the boost in 1st 2nd 3rd gear to save on the Drivetrain.

Yeah i looked a prosport and votex from that site read the whole site backwards..lol Also looked at veedubs Lancashire

theres one is stockport 2 prosport i think its called , all the dealers are on the map on the revo site Dave................

Yeah checked out Prosport ,, like previous post rang Mike at VOTEX had a lenthy conversation with him around 17:40pm last night ,, seem to know his stuff... I asked him about stage 2+ but without the downpipe just fuel pump and Map,,, He said its restrictive and the gains would not be as good 100%..

I have to be careful though as the car is leased and has to go in Audi for servicing ... I was thinking of buying the Miltek Turbo Back , fuel pump upgrade and stage 2...

Then take the Miltek off when car due back ,, put original back on and sell the Miltek for best Price i can.

Think first step is Stage 1 ,, as thats why i think its called stage 1

yeah the pump is fine i got a stage one remap for a day from apr the car was awesome you will only need a feul pump for stage 2 i think stage one will be fine with out
