Just got my cable from Nigel :) Really quick, communicative.. Thanks a lot for doing it so quickly.

Now just waiting to get my cruise control bits to retrofit (from someone else) :D Can't wait to get started with VCDS!

Hello Nigel,

Do you offer pricing for buying the licence for VCDS Lite when using with a 3rd party cable or do I have to go through Ross-Tech for that one ?

Would be easier for me if you do as I cant be bothered with all that US dollar carry on ! LOL

Licenses are bought directly from RT, I sell the full genuine hex-can-usb cable that has built in activation/license.

IMHO you should consider the one I'm selling, as the software license will only be hooked to one laptop, whereas the genuine interface can be used on any laptop, vcds lite has its limitations aswell & if you intend to stay in the vag cars futurewise, best to have a canbus compatible one as newer cars are all can based, plus the license cant be sold on, whereas you can sell your cable should you see fit, also RT dont support/warranty your 3rd party cable at all, whereas the genuine cable comes with warranty.

Check this to see what vcds lite reg'd will do incomparison to the full vcds:

Thanks for the info Nigel, I am considering the full cable you have as I do see it being something I will use even if I move away from VAG again. The other half has a Beetle and shes looking at a TT next so I would be able to use it on them as well.
 
Arrived on Saturday, after a Friday order, great service, have already put to use of over the weekend, which has found me plenty of jobs to do on the wifes car, maybe plug into mine soon.........(hmmm thant wasn't the plan)

Thanks Nigel. Got mine yesterday and put straight to work finding a fault code on my Felicia Fun (not much to check or ****-up on that one).
Scanned my A4 and "alles in ordnung" there. Reckon the engine must be running to access some of the modules. Don't know whether the dealer can "see" that you've been in and looked or even changed anything, so will wait until after imminent service before interrogating A6 C6. Scared myself silly about changing batteries when the time comes though. Sounds more complex than a straight swap with a Bosch.

Hi will, sorry its just hex-can-usb given the difference in price to be able to utilise on all vehicles is worth the extra cost imho & I've only been asked twice I can recall before for said version, when explained to the buyers of the benefits of the hex-can, they have bought my version :)
 
Got my cable off Nigel the other day. Top man to deal with, delighted to have an original Ross-Tech cable eventually.
Been put to good use on my Yeti, the A3 and on my oul lads passat to diagnose the ABS issue he's been having.
