Is it possible to blow this sub up as mine has started to make a horrible farting noise. Iv took the sub out and had a good look at it but cant see any rips. What i cant work out is the subs will not work if i just take 1 out its as if they have to run together. So iv no way ov testing to see if one is broke. And if you have ever drove your s3 without the sub running you will understand why iv got to get this fixed.:sadlike:

Have you checked the middle screw on the front of the enclosure?
These are prone to breaking off the plastic they screw into and then the whole front of the enclosure flaps about like a flappy thing making the sub fart excessively.

I've repaired quite a few using plenty of araldite, but don't overtighten the screw when refitting. It's unlikely to be the drivers, but not unheard of. Try pressing on the front panel while the sub is playing to see if it is an airleak.

Andy!!!!!!!!!! Just to let you know that wirng kit adapter you made me is still going strong and the FLI sub + amp you recommended is still sounding absolutely awesome! :D

Remove the drivers a press down evenly on the cones to see if the voice coils are fractured. The cones should move smoothly, any crunching and they're fecked.
As far as I know they are just standard Bose 801/802 PA speakers, so easily available on ebay for around a tenner. The complete Bose subs come up quite often for around 70 quid but you really don't need the whole thing as that includes the amp inside the enclosure.

I have the 2 'sub' speakers. I removed them from my A3.

PM me if wanted.
