Q7 65 Q7 Audi Smartphone Interface Retrofit

Hey Guys and Girls,

We recently bought a used approved Q7 with the tech pack. We we’re surprised to find out that it didn’t have Audi smartphone interface for Carplay and Android Auto. My question is has anyone bought the retrofit that Audi offer 4M0051472. The build date of our car is July 2015. I did notice that the USB ports have different markings so am thinking that they possibly started installing CarPlay compatible USB as of August 2015. If I were to source a new USB port would it work? Has anyone had experience with the CarPlay retrofit before the official recommended build date ?

You'll need to buy the code-book, which is circa £250, then have the codes activated. Poole Audi charged me an hours labour to do the work, which involves connecting the car to Audi Deutschland via the web, to activate the codes.
