My car been STOLEN

Z82: i presume the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension etc are all ok looking at the pics...

Doc: are you getting to keep the shell? or do the insurers want it?
 
Well insurance came today and I told them I wanted the shell so he let me keep the car and he did say it was a right off.


So what might be for sale

Panels & doors
S4 rear bumper (Only good for wide body)
RS4 Shocks with H&R Race Springs
RS4 Brakes (Only if they don’t fit the B6)
Standard rear brake setup
Centre Consul (Custom Blue lighting)
Engine & Box (Just had major service plus new Oil pump) Dependent on engine in the B6
K04 Hybrid) Turbo (I will be keeping that)
Rear diff
RS4 Ally uprights with Hubs (good for S4 or RS4 brake upgrade)
Front panel
Clocks
Steering wheel (Not in great shape but Air bag is in tack) Glass scuffed
If I can find anything else or you want to ask fire away.

But I have already got quite a few people who want certain parts and I will give them first refusal

The truck that did the dirty work

One street away from where my car was parked the garage denied ownership of the truck saying it was dumped there "yeh right" but the police took me to a couple of addresses to see if I could see my parts.
 
wow cant believe this! i have just got another quattro t s mainly due to being inspired by docs car. a true legend and easily one of my all time favourit modified vag cars! cant believe this has happened! was actually logging on to post a question asking for the part no for your h&r springs, then saw this thread! absolutely gutted for you. the car will be sorely missed. (i suspect you have a long list of inquiries already regarding parts, but i will send a pm re suspension anyway). so sorry to see this!

Yeah we were all inspired by Dave's car. A benchmark car. I felt sickened, pi$$ed off, and disheartened after hearing the news and seeing those pics.

Dave, hope you recover from this and the culprits are caught and face real justice.

doc you need to post a list of parts that have been stolen from the car, identifying features on any that stand out.
the only way the police will take notice if you actually catch someone fencing stolen goods. it is all conjecture to them when it comes to who you think stole it. I did the same with a car that had its wheels nicked. I knew exactly who stole them and saw them 5 mins earlier with a tyre spider and the same bricks......apparently that is not evidence!

I am afraid if I knew that it was that van that did the work it would be involved in a freak fire/accident. preferably when parked on the forecourt!

and you can get a litre of petrol for less than a quid now.
invest in some of Shell's finest!!

looks like transits dodgy ,didnt come with vents behind cab till 1994/5.

Not a cool thing to post on a public forum buddy.

Besides, it spreads to his house, and others, innocent people get hurt, or worse killed.

It becomes either an arson / personal injury / manslaughter charge.

Or, if the law can't prove anything, retribution comes from different people, then you have a turf war on your hands. Where d'you reckon it'll ultimately end?:ninja:
 
Im sorry but saying stuff like this on a public forum could be seen as a public threat, ultimately ruining Daves hard work in his investigations so please let him do so. Unhelpful comments/threats like this could possibly stop him from getting his own deserved justice.
 
As the (calmer) comments above...

We all feel very strongly for Dave, he's a bit of a legend in the scene, as was his car - and we're all mortified for what's happened to them both. I want the folks responsible to get what they deserve just as much as the next man, but we need to consider the ramifications of posts carefully before hitting 'submit'...

Gutted for you, have always loved your motor ever since i joined this forum. Feel for you mate, i really do. Hope you find out those responsible and that they get the punishment they deserve. I have to say though, if my car ever got nicked, i don't think i would ever want to see it again, would not ever like to find my car messed up like that, it's mindless vandalism.
