Basically wondering how many of you run you car with your plastic engine covers on (or carbon ones if your a showy kinda person) and how many run without

Also wondering if you guys that run without have the battery cover and screenwash bottle covers on too

I've not run any plastics on my A3 for about a year now. I used to when it was standard, but to be honest, these days, they're just in the way, and stop me seeing a potential fault.

They also dont fit around my intercooler pipe work!

I'd rather have my engine steam cleaned, and have something nice to look at :)

i have the covers on as you can remove them by twisting the screws with your thumb easily enough to do maintainance.....no battery cover though as didnt have one with it:notme:

Anyway........ whats this? a fetish? do you sleep with the covers on or off.....you perve.....:beerchug:

I have mine on, why would you want to remove them, unless it was modified with a big turbo or something?
Or maybe there's better cooling with them off, or the weight saving is going to give you 0.1 secs at the quarter miles?

I leave the covers on ! looks nice and tidy, i agree about the engine looking ugly as sin, even if it is a little beaut, i think a great looking engine was the original Red Top 16v vauxhall engine ! great engine for it's time...

Engine cover on.....I like my lady to play hard to get....at.

I opted to change the standard OEM cover for a more asthetically pleasing carbon fibre cover. Added the audi emblem and S3 badge as a

That is one serious stutter you got their !! lol

****** hell I thought this topic had caught fire!
is that twenty duplicate posts

Sorry bout posting 1000 replys to the thread. Computer decided to keep sending reply to post at different points of completion. LOL . Anyway like i was saying i replaced the original cover for a carbon fibre cover, and added a few finishing touches by putting on an Audi emblem and an S3 emblem. It really does look the dogs ********. Want to spray up the bottle cover and battery cover as well. But haven't found time to sand them down yet as constantly away abroad at months at a time with work.

lol, i think s3 rocks wanted to get his/hers point across.

i run mine withougt, simply because i removed it to do some work, packed up, bought it indoors and have just never put it back on

on the subject of engine covers.

does anyone know the part number(s) for the little screws that hold down the engine covers on the A3 T? Are they all the same? Anyone know if they come as a packet or individually etc etc.

over time mine seem to have disappeared through servicing etc. I'd like to purchase some new ones and get it secured down neatly.
