Good evening people

Can some one help me? Iv got to change my side repeaters on my A3 2001 (Y) as i have noiced that one of them is broken
How do they come out and are they easy?

I really need to get a haynes manual for little things like this

Undo the plastic cover around the back of the wheel arch (a few screws), reach in behind the repeater, squeeze the tabs and it should push right out (that's going off memory from a good few years ago!).

you can remove them without dropping the wheelarch linner use you thumb to push it towards the front and then pull the rear out with your other hand theres a knack to it but they will come out

I was to paranoid about chipping the paint to do that :)

its like riding a bike , i've only got to look at them now and they fall out :)

Push them toward the front with your thumb, they will simply pop out..I hope...

Is there a difference between the pre and post face lift side repeaters apart from the shape? I used abit of rag (so not to scratch the paint) and a flat bladed screw driver too pop mine out... simple to quality mod!

Bit of a noob question in itself.

For the side repeaters, are they simply the casing that is changed or the actually light + casing together?

I have a pre facelight A3 and wanted to start mods, and a clear side repeater does look nice.

How much do the parts cost? Havent checked at Vag yet. too lazy :p

You can get the side repeater casing off e-bay (they are seperate from lights) ...if you get clear/white casing (with is more OEM, IMO) purchase non-yellow (or chromed) bulbs seperate...

Thanks for that, either way they are £15 with light bulbs.

perhaps to complete the package I should order them instead of just the casing.

Next is some new headlights for my pre facelift A3 :)

Sounds like a man that has caught the Audi bug....It started with side repeaters for me as well...:icon_thumright:

Its been a bug since I bought her on 2nd Jan :)

But sadly I am redoing my kitchen and spent money on it.

Also I couldnt get my personlised number plate because of the pre fix style would make my car newer than it is :(

So saved £450 and bought a fridge instead.

Next pay day is some new lights, but so far it will be side repeaters.

whats the best replacement side repeaters to get? and where to get em?

as i bought clear ones off ebay and they seem to have went a bit yellow-ish kinda colour over the last year or so

No worries, cheap as chips and looking forward to installing them this weekend.

Am also wanting to install a rear spoiler and shark fin/shorter aeriel.

Have to build up courage first :)

Let us know how you get on.
