Broken Foglight switch

On the way up to Scotland, my integrated and rear foglights stopped working. The foglight icon does not lit up when they are pulled out. X2

Basically, I have no icon's and no foglights (front or rear), although my headlights work fine..I am assuming the the foglight switch is broken..

Any thoughts on this...

it could just be a loose connection within the switch unit as it's a push fit component, everytime you pull the round switch out to put the fogs on it could cause it to come loose.

The whole switch can be removed quite easily (push the round switch in and then turn it anticlockwise), the whole unit should then slide out quite easily

failing that, I've got one lying around somewhere if you want it? - I replaced it as it had a small scratch on it, but works fine.

Would a loose connection elsewhere around the foglight circuit cause this, as I recently upgraded my foglights to postfacelift style (vagparts mod)?

it's possible i guess, there could be a loose connection somewher in the wiring although if you've lost both the front and back fogs i'd look at the switch first.
