Hi all,

Looking for some advice from anyone who’s dealt with the front suspension/control arms on a D4 S8.

My car is a 2014 S8 D4 facelift with around 55k miles. The upper and lower control arm bushes have started squeaking and it looks like they’re due for replacement.

The arms themselves are fine — no damage or bending — it appears to just be the rubber bushes that have deteriorated.

Audi have quoted me around £4,000 for the parts alone to replace the arms, and even going down the Lemförder route through ECP looks to be around £2,500.

Before I spend that sort of money replacing complete control arms purely because of worn bushes, has anyone found a decent aftermarket solution for replacing/rebushing the original arms?

Ideally I’m wondering whether anyone makes polyurethane bushes or bush inserts for the D4 platform — something along the lines of Whiteline, Powerflex, SuperPro, etc.

I’d actually prefer to retain the original Audi arms and have them properly rebushed if there’s a good-quality option available, rather than replacing perfectly serviceable arms just for the rubber bushes.

Has anyone done this on an S8/A8 D4, particularly the S8 with the heavier front end?

Interested to hear what bushes you used, whether they needed pressing/machining into the original arms, and most importantly whether there was any noticeable increase in NVH or ride harshness afterwards.

Also happy to consider upgraded rubber bushes rather than poly if there’s a proven option available.

Any part numbers, manufacturers or recommendations would be appreciated.

Cheers
