Audi A2 e-tron Revealed: Up to 401 Miles of Range from £32,200
Audi has officially revealed the new A2 e-tron, its compact entry-level EV and, according to the company, the most efficient Audi ever produced. With prices starting from £32,200, a choice of four power outputs and a maximum WLTP range of 401 miles, the new A2 e-tron looks set to become one of Audi's most important electric models yet. UK order books open in October 2026, with first deliveries expected in early 2027.
Up to 401 Miles from a Charge
Efficiency is the big story here. In its most economical specification, the A2 e-tron achieves a provisional 12.8 kWh/100 km, helped by a slippery 0.24 drag coefficient.Three battery sizes are available, 52 kWh, 61 kWh and 84 kWh, with the longest-range version capable of travelling up to 401 miles according to WLTP.
Depending on the model, DC charging reaches up to 183 kW, allowing a 10 to 80% charge in as little as 24 minutes.
Four Versions to Choose From
| Model | Battery | Range | 0-62 mph | DC charging |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A2 e-tron 170 PS | 52 kWh | 262 miles | 8.8 sec | 100 kW |
| A2 e-tron 190 PS | 61 kWh | 320 miles | 7.9 sec | 105 kW |
| A2 e-tron 231 PS | 84 kWh | 401 miles | 7.0 sec | 183 kW |
| A2 e-tron 326 PS | 84 kWh | 391 miles | 5.7 sec | 183 kW |
Compact Outside, Proper Audi Inside
The new A2 e-tron has been designed around efficiency rather than simply fitting the biggest possible battery.Short overhangs, a long 2.77-metre wheelbase, enclosed underbody and active cooling all contribute to its aerodynamic performance, while the compact footprint hides a surprisingly practical interior.
Boot capacity is 396 litres, increasing to 1,336 litres with the rear seats folded.
Inside, there's an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus alongside a 12.8-inch curved MMI touchscreen, while options include a large panoramic glass roof and augmented-reality head-up display.
Plenty of Technology as Standard
Audi hasn't treated the A2 as a stripped-back entry model either.Adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, swerve assist, parking sensors and a reversing camera are among the standard assistance systems, while higher specifications add features including automated parking and more advanced driver assistance.
There's also Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing the battery to power external electrical equipment. Vehicle-to-Home functionality is supported in selected markets with compatible charging hardware.
A Proper Successor to the Original A2?
More than 25 years after the original Audi A2 became known for its lightweight construction and obsession with efficiency, Audi is reviving the name for the electric era. This time the formula is arguably much easier to understand: compact dimensions, sensible pricing, up to 401 miles of range and potentially very low running costs.
Starting at £32,200, the A2 e-tron could also become a genuinely accessible route into a new Audi.
UK orders open in October 2026, with the first cars arriving at Audi Centres in early 2027.
