I'm trying to fix an issue with the drivers side rear lock on an A6 C8 2019 model.

Audi "updated the software" then the lock itself has been replaced but the issue persists.

When the doors are locked and unlocked via the key fob everything is fine.
If opened from the inside everything is fine.

However... If the car is unlocked via the key fob and then the rear drivers door is opened from the outside, the door fails to fully open and kind of half unlocks and requires a second attempt at the handle pull to open the door. At this point a beeping noise occurs and "central locking fault" warning appears on the dashboard. This is annoying but not the end of the world. However, the bigger issue is that this also results in that when the door is then locked via the key fob this door doesn't then lock. Even though "normally" the lock unlocks and locks fine via the fob. Unless the exterior handle has been used.

To fix this I then need to remove the little rubber grommet and use the physical key to reset the door lock. At which point the door locks and unlocks just fine again until the handle is used.

The handle doesn't fail 100% of the time either, sometimes it works.

Can anyone guide me on what should next be checked and or replaced to make sure I don't waste time and money on unnecessary parts.

Sorry for the long post. Hoping the detail might make sense to someone with more knowledge than me.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can or tries to help.
