Audi Brings Nuvolari Supercar and Motorsport Legends to Goodwood Festival of Speed

Audi is bringing both its future and its past to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, with the all-new Audi Nuvolari making its dynamic debut on the famous Hillclimb alongside a host of historic racing machinery.

The headline act will undoubtedly be the near-production Audi Nuvolari, the 1,001 PS hybrid supercar that recently stole the show at its London debut. Limited to just 499 examples worldwide, the Nuvolari will tackle the iconic 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill in front of crowds for the very first time.

And who better to take the wheel than Tom Kristensen?

The nine-time Le Mans winner and Audi legend will be responsible for introducing Audi's new flagship performance machine to the famous West Sussex hillside.

Formula 1 Thinking Meets Supercar Performance

Kristensen highlighted the way the Nuvolari's systems work together as one of its defining characteristics.

"What impresses most is the interaction between the new quattro drivetrain, vehicle dynamics systems, aerodynamics and braking performance."
The Nuvolari introduces a host of technologies inspired by Audi's motorsport programmes, including:

  • High-performance hybrid technology
  • Active aerodynamics
  • Advanced energy management systems
  • Next-generation quattro technology
Audi says these systems have been developed with one aim: to create the most capable road car the company has ever built.

With over 1,000 PS on tap and a top speed comfortably beyond 350 km/h, the Nuvolari officially becomes the fastest and most powerful production Audi ever created.

Customer deliveries are expected to begin during the first half of 2027.

RS 5 Also Makes Goodwood Appearance

Sharing the spotlight with the Nuvolari is Audi Sport's latest performance estate and saloon offering — the new RS 5.

Fresh from its reveal, the hybrid-powered RS model will be on display throughout the event, giving enthusiasts an opportunity to get up close to Audi's latest take on the performance car formula.

The Return of a Forgotten Silver Arrow

While the future may be grabbing the headlines, Audi Tradition will ensure the brand's history remains front and centre at Goodwood.

Among the historic machinery on display will be:

  • Le Mans prototypes
  • Rally legends
  • Auto Union Type C Grand Prix cars
  • Auto Union Type D Grand Prix cars
However, perhaps the most intriguing appearance comes from the Auto Union Lucca, which will be seen moving in public for the very first time.

The streamlined "Rennlimousine" formed part of the legendary Silver Arrows era and became famous in 1935 when it achieved a flying-start mile average speed of 320.267 km/h.

Audi recreated the car using original photographs and historical technical documentation before unveiling it earlier this year in Lucca, Italy — the location of the original record run.

Audi's Performance Story in One Place

From 1930s Silver Arrows and Le Mans domination to hybrid supercars and Formula 1 technology, Audi's presence at Goodwood this year tells the story of almost a century of performance engineering.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend in Sussex.
