Out in car today (RS3 8.5Y) and my phone rings as in phone and not through the MMI,
I found there was no connection between phone and car and on phone screen the 'connect phone' was also greyed out, as was the whole of the Bluetooth Menu in the 'Connection' menu? I stopped, got out locked car, got back in, left the car parked for 7 hours whilst we went on our walk, still no bluetooth

I googled it and one answer said the car wifi can interfere with Blutooth, so I switch the wifi hot spot and anothet wifi title off and hey presto the Bluetooth option is no longer greyed out and our phones connect again?

I can also add I have NEVER been in the connection menu in the 7 months I have owned this car, anyone else had similar?

I've had various connection issues with my iphone in 8Y / 8.5Y and my wee Polo. It seems to be just inherently dodgy technology. I've got to the point I just ignore it and it fixes itself.

Yes, I agree with that but this was 'different' the car didnt (initially) respond to the Audi App either, on location it said 'Unable to connect with car' this changed (we were out walking) mid day to showing the cars location so I thought all would be ok on return

It's done a few other 'odd' things as well, Wifey came home and said the indicators/side assist and windscreen wipers were not working, they worked next time though? I'm a bit hesitant about booking the car in as I have an ASR memory module fitted which 'may' be the problem in my eye's and certainly would bein Audi's eye's

Not that it helps, but I find that my 8Y quite regularly refuses to connect to my phone (S25 Ultra) via Android Auto and even via the standard Bluetooth connection, whether plugged in or not.

I often find switching off the WiFi and Bluetooth on the phone briefly and then tunring them back on, before retrying the connect button in the menu will work. But sometimes I have to just wait until I can get out the car and switch it off, as it often then connects the next time I start the car without a single issue.

So it seems you're not alone on it, even if that's probably not what you wanted to hear!

The connect button on the phone screen was also greyed out :(
