On Monday on my way home with my son a car crashed into the back of me. The insurance company have already wrote the car off without even seeing it.
They wanted the car to be picked up by copart where they would assess the damage and give me a price with the option for me to buy the car back. I've told them they can't take the car so they'll work out price based on photos.
So just wondering if all the sportback bumbers are the same apart from the diffuser?
Does anyone on here have a tailgate and bumper preferably in black?
As you can imagine I'm absolutely gutted

That’s a pain. Who are you insured with just out of interest? Never heard of it being shipped to Copart as a starter. Also, how do they determine insurance category if not viewing in person? Likely Cat N which will stay with vehicle until it’s scrapped.

Regards part numbers for bumpers, double check on LLL parts site based on your engine code. Wouldn’t be to bothered about sourcing parts in a different colour. On 2010-2017 car, anything you do find will likely need painted anyway.

First thing to do is strip off rear bumper to see what the crash bar looks like. Also look at where bumper meets rear quarter.

I'm insured with esure. When I phoned up after the accident they asked me about the damage to my car and they said because the car was over 6 years old and had done over 100k that it would more than likely be a total loss.
I was always going to buy the car back, the damage isn't that bad. It's mainly the tailgate bumper and crash bar. Both rear quarters are fine. The boot floor has been pushed in slightly but apart from that the cars ok. Because I them I didn't want the car going to copart I'm hoping it won't be a categorised.

Ensure will claim cost back from the driver that rear ended you, or rather their insurance company. However, if Esure pay out to you, then it needs to be recorded, that’s my understanding.
