Hello colleagues,

As the proud owner of a 2022 RS3 8Y Sportback, I’ve been experiencing a few issues with the car and I’m wondering whether any of you have gone through something similar.

About a year ago, I had an ignition problem. One morning, when I was about to leave for the office and pressed the Start button, an “Ignition malfunction – please contact workshop” message appeared, along with a yellow engine warning light on the cluster. I switched the car off, restarted it, and the error disappeared. But the next day it happened again. I left the car at Audi, and after a “coil update” (software only), the issue went away. Did not convince with the solution at Audi...

However, last week, while driving back from a long weekend, I was cruising at around 100 mph in 7th gear in Dynamic mode. I floored the gas pedal, it kicked down to 3rd, but when reaching around 6,000 rpm (yellow zone), 4th gear didn’t engage. Instead, the car started jerking erratically, almost like hitting the rev limiter, and the yellow engine light began flashing. I lifted off the throttle, and it shifted up to 7th normally.

A few minutes later, I tried again, and the same thing happened. The engine light kept flashing but never stayed solid. I’m not sure whether this is a gearbox issue, an engine issue, or if it could be related to the coil problem I had previously.

Has anyone experienced something similar with their car? Revision at Audi is next July 17th...

Thanks! :)

Thanks!
