Got the most bizarre issue.
A month or so ago, I was driving to work and started getting random warnings about the assist systems being unavailable, such as pre-sense and rear cross-assist. These kept bonging at regular intervals as I was driving.
Figured I'd pull over and do the old "switch it off and on again", except after I turned off the ignition, it wouldn't turn on again. The car was totally dead, as if the key wasn't present. In addition, the car would unlock from the fob but wouldn't lock!
Called Roadside and waited. After an hour or so, I thought I'd give it another go and lo and behold, it was all working fine again! Cancelled the roadside callout and figured it might have been the battery in the fob so replaced those straight away.
Yesterday it happened again. This time I was getting two assist warnings every time the car came to a halt. They disappeared as soon as I moved off but then repeated the next time I stopped!
Drove straight to the Audi dealer as it was only a mile or so away as I feared the same thing might happen and I thought it was better to get stuck at the dealer.
Sure enough, same thing as before. Ignition was dead and the car wouldn't lock. Also the DRLs were stuck on after leaving it for about ten minutes which is very weird.
After half-an-hour or so, it cleared and was starting and locking fine again.
The dealer has it now and are going to investigate today but I can pretty much guarantee they'll say they can't find anything.
Thought I'd mention it here just to share the weirdness and on the off-change anyone has experienced anything similar.
