hi i have a1.4 tfsi 2010 facelift a3 sline the gearbox code is LNY would an NFU fit thanks its a six speed

Isn't NFU a diesel gearbox?
At least looking at part number and my local part dealers it shows as getting pulled out of 1.9L and 2.0L diesels so the ratios might make it miserable to drive on 122/125HP and 200 NM.
I would expect stuff like Flywheel, clutch, shifter cable length/positioning, maybe mountings, drive shafts and possibly wheel bearing by extension to be different than what is on a 1.4tfsi.
Is there a reason why this box specifically? I understand that MQ200 gearboxes were 5 speed at first but at some point VAG Frankensteined them into 6 Speeds. Both the original LHY and current LNY on my 2008 pre-facelift 1.4TFSI are 6 speeds.

My LNY box has a whining bearing noise when pulling away, and it goes away when in 3 4 5 6 th or I cannot hear it at those speeds. I have seen a Luk rebuild kit for 225 wonder if it's worth building it myself. Recon boxes are stupid prices. I can do the box myself, I don't particularly want a diesel box, only a mate said it would fit, but you know what mates say lol
Have not dealt with rebuilding a gearbox yet, most i ever did was helping a friend change the shift tower on his MQ250 box for a Golf IV.
When i managed to trash my original LHY i traded it for a somewhat cheap refurbished LNY and mounted that in, a very lengthy plug & play process.
225 for a kit sounds cheap, not sure how British market looks but Dutch transmission prices are steep, where refurbished MQ200s go between 1000 to 1400 euros, with a trade in of the old box.
Looking back at the original box, i wish i had the time or a backup car, because then i would have been able to take the box apart and tinker with it, learn something new and hopefully fix it, if i was you and had the time or knowhow on how to rebuild it with a kit, i would do it.
And yeah, mates say what they say, one of mine was adamant about and trying to convience me that my 1.4TFSI has a timing belt..
