Audi has revealed its most extreme road car yet — the Audi Nuvolari, a limited-production hybrid supercar created to showcase the future of performance from the four rings.
With just 499 examples planned, a staggering 1,001 PS output, and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h, the Nuvolari becomes the fastest and most powerful production car Audi has ever created.
Combining Formula 1-inspired technology, a new generation of design, and advanced hybrid engineering, the Nuvolari represents the next chapter of Vorsprung durch Technik.
A New Performance Flagship
The automotive world is changing faster than ever, and Audi says the Nuvolari is a clear demonstration of where the brand is heading.Following the announcement of its Formula 1 programme and the introduction of a new design philosophy focused on clarity and precision, the Nuvolari acts as a technological showcase for the future.
“In times of fundamental change, we are making bold strategic decisions,” said Audi CEO Gernot Döllner. “The Audi Nuvolari brings pure emotion and performance to the road. It also reveals how we are taking Vorsprung durch Technik into a new era.”
Hybrid Power Meets Audi Performance
The Nuvolari marks Audi’s first step into the world of high-performance hybrid supercars. Its advanced electrified powertrain delivers breathtaking performance while also acting as a development platform for future technology.
Rouven Mohr, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development, explained: “The Nuvolari is the first supercar from Audi with a high-performance hybrid powertrain, and it sets new standards with aerodynamics and the world-first quattro predictive ride.”
Alongside its hybrid drivetrain, the Nuvolari introduces a range of innovations including:
- Active aerodynamics
- Advanced lightweight construction
- Carbon exterior components
- Audi Space Frame technology
- Next-generation quattro systems
Inspired by a Motorsport Legend
The Nuvolari name pays tribute to one of motorsport’s greatest icons: Tazio Nuvolari.Known for his fearless driving style, determination, and ability to push machinery beyond expectations, the Italian racer became a symbol of passion and performance — qualities Audi aims to capture with its new flagship model.
A New Design Direction
The Nuvolari will also become the first production Audi to fully embrace the brand’s latest design philosophy.Expect a more focused approach: cleaner surfaces, sharper details, and a design where every element serves a purpose.
Inside, the focus remains firmly on the driver, combining advanced technology with a more emotional and immersive driving experience.
“The Audi Nuvolari embodies Vorsprung durch Technik in its most visceral form: progress through technology,” said Chief Creative Officer Massimo Frascella.
Limited to 499 Cars
Audi describes the Nuvolari as a car designed for customers searching for something truly special.Marco Schubert, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing, said the model represents “exclusivity, performance, and the ultimate in desirability.”
Production will be limited to only 499 vehicles worldwide, with the first customer deliveries expected during the first half of 2027.
The Future of Audi Performance?
From quattro rally cars to the R8, Audi has always used its halo models to introduce new technology and push boundaries. The Nuvolari appears ready to continue that tradition — bringing together hybrid power, Formula 1 influence, and Audi engineering in one dramatic package.
The R8 may have left some very big shoes to fill, but Audi’s next chapter looks like it could be something very special indeed.
