Quiet tyres

My SLine Sportback is due a new set of tyres soon. Currently running Turanza t5’s but I find then quite noisy. Can anyone suggest an alternative that could be quieter and comfortable?
Would all season tyres be worse when it comes to noise and ride comfort?
 
I instantly swapped the factory-fit Nexens of my current car for Michelin Primacy 6's. They are the least noisy (summer) tyres I've had under my three 8Y's. Turanzas were definitely louder. Also noticed the 16" Falkens of my last courtesy car, 8Y as well, were also louder, even though they are also narrower than my 17" Michelins. Same goes with the overall comfort of the tyres.

Tyre noise is always prominent in 8Y though, it's one of it's worst features. But tyres affect a lot, especially to the tone of the noise. I'm pretty sure the difference is even bigger if you have 18" or 19" wheels.

Had those in my previous car, also in 17" size. Actually replaced the factory fit Turanzas with them after 1000 km driving. They were less noisy than Bridgestones, but not as much as I was hoping. The driving feel improved a huge step but the fuel economy went down as much.

So if you want a very precise tyre that's quieter than Turanza and don't care much about fuel economy, go for the Eagle F1 Asy6. They were also weirdly cheap when I bought them. But those Michelin Primacy 6's are even quieter, way better in fuel economy and almost as good in performance. They were a lot pricier though, but out of those two I'd choose the Primacys again.

Maybe I'd also check the Michelin Pilot Sport 5's for the S-line car. One local car magazine had them for comparison in a "regular" tyre test and they won the whole test. They were described as evenly quiet and comfortable than the Primacys but a bit better performing - only downside was the fuel economy. Like the Eagle F1 it's a performance tyre which always have high rolling resistance. But Goodyear will be cheaper for sure.
 
Sorry the Michelins are Primacy 5's, not 6's. Got the number mixed with the Goodyear Asymmetrics which were 6.

Michelin Cross Climate 3 Sports make for a good year around tire. 3 peak mountain snowflake symbol for lighter winters, excellent summertime performance. Very quiet when cold outside, but can get a bit hummy on a sunny day over 26C/78F. I use 225/40 R18 92Ys on mine and the ride is noticeably more comfortable than on the black optic package's 19s.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’d been thinking about going to all season tyres as they may be more suited to the Scottish climate. The Michelin CC3 Sports are on my shortlist. The car runs on 225/40R18s and I don’t think I will have too many days over 26C so the hum should not be an issue.

I have just changed my tyres from whatever was on it but they were summer tyres and were awful in winter and on cold wet roads.
Went for pirelli cinturato all seasons .Decided that the crossclimate were abit of much considering the amount of snow we get in central scotland. Reviews seemed to be about the same.
Anyway i i thought the pirellis were a lot quieter and didnt seem to thump as much when hitting potholes.
They are 235/35 x19

If you have a browse on Blackcircles, it shows a decibel rating against each tyre which gives you a crude comparison.

I've just replaced the factory-fit Goodyear Eagle Supersports with Conti Sport Contact 7s and they're a bit quieter and smoother.
 
Those dB ratings are passing-by noise levels, of course they give some guidelines but they tell nothing about the tone of the noise, which affects a lot to what's the noise level inside the car. Tyre comparison tests may have some measurings from inside the car, which of course tell nothing about the dB levels in any other car, but at least you can compare the tyres better than by passing noise.

I run Bridgestone Turanza 6 it’s the quietest tyre and quieter than my Michelin’s with better wet weather performance. Ok it’s not a track tyre but it’s the quietest I’ve found
