A3 Temperature Control Unit buttons

Anyone had issues with their Audi a3 temperature control unit buttons?

Basically, some of my temperature control buttons stopped working a while ago, I could only press down for fan speed, and temperature and the up buttons wasn’t working.

With the hot weather we’ve been having, all of a sudden these buttons are working again?

Put the air on on full blast and then they stopped working. Car was in the sun all day today, went into my car and they are working again!

Seems to be working again since it’s been hot? Any idea what could be causing this, doesn’t seem like the buttons are faulty.. possible loose connection which has melted back together with the heat??

Which model year car? I remember reading here that faulty HVAC control panel was a pretty common problem amongst the early years cars and quite a few were replaced under warranty.

2021 model. Unfortunately not in warranty now, seems to be working fine at the moment, but afraid that when the weather gets cold again, it might stop working. Just seems strange how since the hot weather we've had it fixed itself

Maybe the heat has “relaxed” certain wiring / components so they are making contact again? Just a random thought.
Since the hotter weather my rear view mirror ”droops” so I have to keep moving it up to my view… hopefully it stays working for you.
