What are your thoughts on having the bucket seats over the standard seats with the memory settings and electric adjustments which you lose on the bucket seats??
Some people have said the leg section is too long but I wonder if anyone's has experienced this or any issue?
My only concern is that my wife will be driving it and would the loss of the memory function be an issue as she is use to that in her car?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated

Well it's too late for me. Already ordered them. I think TX has had them for a couple of months so he might be able to give you some insight.

I have watched a lot of YT clips and am leaning towards not getting the bucket seats in ours. They are supposed to be quite firm, and several reviewers have mentioned that the base is too long for people of average height. You also lose the electric seat functions, along with memory seats and mirrors.

Our M3 has the carbon buckets, which look very cool and that was a big part of the decision to get them, but having lived with them for three years, I would never have them again. I fear I might feel the same about the RS3 buckets in time.

I've had them from Feb last year and had no problems with them , and I am 6f2in , and I had a pre FL too

Thanks for your reply,
Does anyone else drive your car, hence missing the memory function?

I'm not a very tall guy but I've never thought that any car seat would have had too long leg section. Rather the opposite - in many seats, dare I say most, that don't have adjustable knee support, I find the seat to be too short. I guess if you like higher seating position then it might be different but I like to sit pretty low and have my legs pretty straight. That also usually makes me adjust the steering wheel as much out as possible.

But the tilt angle of the seat can't be adjusted in the buckets, just the backrest. I've only sat in those buckets briefly but I coulnd't make up my mind whether the angle was perfect or a bit too steep for me. So it must be too steep for some drivers for sure.

Said this to someone else earlier with the same questions, I'd suggest you try to find a showroom car with those seats and test them out before buying. On the other hand, after test driving the RS3 with both seats I find it hard to say which ones I prefer. At least the buckets feel much more special.

Hi JKP,
great comments and very similar to my thoughts. i love the look but want the adjustment as well, but cant have your cake and eat it!! shame!!
does anybody who has the buckets feel that they sit lower than the standard seats?

Buckets are very comfortable indeed, and it's nice to have the electric adjustment too.

I must admit £2k extra for buckets, which aren't as functional did not seem a good deal to me. Especially as the car will be my daily drive so I stuck wth standard seats. There are better things to spend the money on such as the advanced TPMS and an ASR module to fix the unwanted "safety aids".

Can you explain to me what the ASR is and where you purchase it from and how much it is please
Many thanks

Yeah I absolutely love them. Non leccy not an issue for me as they are easy to adjust between me and the wife. She has said that it annoys her that the bit under the thigh won't move in or out however the seats work fine for me, perhaps sit in some first.

TX.

The RS3 buckets are super easy to get in and out of though certainly Vs the M3 which I have too.

tbh buckets look sick and feel great when driving hard, but for daily they can be a bit annoying

no memory and less adjustment is the big one, if your wife uses it she’ll def notice that
if it’s shared car id prob go normal seats, buckets more for “fun car” vibe
