New to the forum but looking for some help.
From time to time I get a small amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust and looking for some advice on the best place to start looking. Smoke appears randomly, sometimes nothing for days / weeks and then happens a few times on the same. Spotted it again tonight under light acceleration from a roundabout (30 limit and wasn't pulling hard or accelerating for long), smoke stopped quick (after 30seconds or so). Mostly noticed the smoke when reversing to park up after a trip.
2014 A6 C7 2.0 TDI 177BHP 120K Miles
Oil and filter changed every 6 months without fail, Mobil Engine Oil 5W-30 - could this be part of the issue?
Car isn't down on power, no coolant leak, did notice a small amount of oil on the bottom of the sump during last oil change (don't appear to be loosing any oil, oil level doesn't change). Exhaust tip does have some black soot on it.
Car is used for lots of short trips these days, circa 15min drive to the shops or ferry kids around. Doesn't get may long runs as work from home.
