Is there anyone near Reading who can help me with my MOT?

My car’s main fault is her proper charva decat system. From the receipts, it wasn’t cheap but makes the car sound and look cheap. The o2 sensor was also kept which obviously means the engine light is always on. She’s been parked up for about a year now; I hate to see it.

I’ve bought an original system plus custom 3”, sports-cat downpipe. All the garages I’ve spoken to won’t fit it because the cat isn’t EC stamped (an EC stamped cat was an extra £400). I just want to get her on the road again.

If there’s a forum member nearby, who can help, please DM me.

I had a dc and put an sc on it, it passed first time round and struggled the next. Light is always popping up. So fed up with it im tempted to put the factory cat back on but the flexi is bad.

I was worried about that exact scenario so paid for a top spec sports cat; it’s not EC marked so none of my local garages will fix it. I’m going to get the lads at work to have a look at installing for me… hopefully it’s all good enough to get her back on the road.

You can fit a spacer for the post cat o2, to stop the p420 (or just map it out) it is 3 0s.

Some clever guys in the tt forum, just v band in one of the original cats for MOT.

The sports cats from ebay tend to only work a couple of MOTs - PipeWerx seemed a bit better.

They probably don't want to fit your exhaust because, it's difficult to estimate the amount of work. TTShop quoted me a minimum of 5 hours, just for the downpipe.

I had to remove the head from my S3 to remove the downpipe.

My pipewerx sports cat has struggled to pass more than 1 MOT. You need the downpipe as well, the original 2 branch wont fit unless you go down the miltek route or similar route

I’ve booked her in at the dealership for an MOT on Friday. I’ve put a 90 bens on the o2 sensor so at least the engine light isn’t on anymore.

As suspected, she failed on emissions.

I’m quite unimpressed by Audi Plymouth. I booked it in for a 10:30 MOT, having preheated the cat, but it took them 3 hrs to start the test.
