Evening,

I don't have the heated seats control buttons and understand it was an optional extra but although no control being available am I right in understanding Audi fitted the heating elements in their seats anyway and if that's the case, how do I find out? Got this info from Google so not sure whether it's genuine or not.

I've got the 2.0T (220) S Line Special Edition with the grey/ black 2 tone leather seats.

A quick look at the loom fitted to the seats will clarify what they are fitted with.
To fit heated seats, it requires the heating controller and the appropriate loom. Controllers are available, and the looms can be fabricated, or Kufatec sell them.
As with all things Audi its best to check the individual parts you have to ascertain what they are. Don't assume anything with Audi.

Not seen you on the forum for a long time chap, but you are still a B7 owner and here which is great. :icon thumright:

Thanks Rob,
Yes mate, been occupied with other matters.
You're now an B7 RS4 owner? Congrats!

You'll have s-line seat in your variant, but if heated seat option was specified and the controller isn't fitted, then it's unlikely the seats will have the seat pad heating element fitted, theres a slim chance, but don't bet on it.

It's not here yet , but not long now, running a few weeks behind the deal completion......not my end , delay with the seller.
I'm just counting down now. :icon thumright: :icon thumright:

Here's a pic, its not the one I'm getting but its the colour etc , just a taster for you. :icon thumright:
not the best pic angle for an Rs4 but hey it still looks good.

Because I know the car and the owner it's the one I want and have done for a good few years, so happy to wait for that little bit longer , I missed out on it once before but not a 2nd time.

Okay took the seats off for a deep clean and condition.
No green connector, so I guess no heated seats!

you will need a loom for heated seats then plus the climate control unit if you want heated seats.
kufatec do the heated seat looms , and pickup a climate control unit from the classifieds.

wheather its worth the hassle all depends on you chap.
I had them in my B7 and used them twice in 12 years .

Ive just picked up a complete full electic set for my allroad as it had basic adjustment seats, albeit with top spec covering.
Same situation, my allroad is missing the looms for powering the seats and heating.
Not fussed on heating and it's one less complication to overcome, but getting power is very straightforward.

You're right Rob, I probably never use it and seems far too much of a hassle, I'll just clean the seats tomorrow and stick it back on.

If you were retrofitting S4 Recaros, then that would be a worthwhile project, but for S-line, not sure its quite such a worthwile outlay etc.

nah mate thats usually not true tbh. if it didnt come with heated seats from factory, most of the time the elements arent there at all. audi dont just fit them “just in case”.

best way to know is scan it or check under the seat, but no buttons usually means no heaters. google prob bit off on that one
