Hello Friends in Audi World. Thought I would tell you about a recent visit to our local Audi garage to see if they could diagnose a fault on the reverse parking system. We have an OBD 11 reader which was telling us there was no communication from the rear, Inner sensor on the drivers side. Also, there was a fault on the MMI where the radio sound would go off for no reason. Spoke to a few Auto electrical technicians who told us it would be necessary to go to Audi to carry out full diagnostic check.
Audi reported that there was no fault on the MMI but they found at least 6 mobile phones registered in the system and they thought the MMI was constantly searching for phone communication causing the sound to fail. These phones have been removed and we will see if that cures the problem. They also replaced the reverse parking sensor which had to be painted in dark blue perl. Now working fine. Now, the price. We were shocked and saddened when the bill was announced. £ 791 including VAT and seemed proud to announce that the car had been washed and valeted free of charge. My own fault I guess as I just asked them to fix it without a quote. An expensive lesson!!
