I've just had my clutch replaced with HELIX Organic, HELIX Billet pressure plate, Sachs Flywheel, LUK Release bearing and a braided clutch cable with billet bleed block.
At the same time I had a short shift from forge fitted.
I've done 400 miles on the new clutch and it's much stronger, pedal feel is heavier, but not too heavy, in fact I prefer it to the feather clutch feel that was standard!
I've gone Integrated Engineering Stage 1 high torque remap, with an Integrated Engineering intake system. Have yet to WOT the car as I'm using the last 100 miles of proper clutch bed in first, but it's definately a LOT quicker than it was and makes some crazy wooshy, stu tu tu tu noises. Not sure i'm fussed on those, but it's different I suppose.
Integrated Engineering offer, ODBC port tunning/monitoring, via Bluetooth/PC cable, and I had a steal as I bought one from eBay, had to call the states a few times to sort the map out, but it was worth it. IE are big in the states on MQB platform, and I like the way their products are made. They have had great reviews and made the power on the dyno runs, same as what they quote on the site. Which was important for me
I'd highly recommend looking at AKS Tuning for the clutch, aparently the HELIX is good for 500nm+, although website states 480nm. Clutch feels strong and bites nicely, no noise from clutch when pedals out. I'm really happy with it.
I paid £1300 and some odd pence for it all from AKS Tuning. Fitting was done by my friend (additional cost), who has his own Garage (don't trust anyone else)
