Hi everyone, I'm Steve, owner of Specialist Trackers UK. I'm delighted to be a part of the new vehicle security section here on Audi-Sport, and I wanted to introduce myself and the business properly before diving into anything technical.

A bit of background. I've been working hands-on in vehicle security for over a decade. I started by fitting systems personally as a vehicle security installation engineer and continue to be deeply involved in the technical aspects of the business. Over the years, I have installed hundreds of systems in Audi vehicles, predominantly in Audi Sport models such as the RS6, R8, RSQ8, and all performance variants, as well as most other standard models covered during this time. Combined, this means we have a very good understanding of the underlying platforms, their electrical architectures, and powertrain technologies. This ensures we can cater for, and provide advice on the suitability of our security systems for any Audi. In fact, we install industry-leading system design specially for Audi vehicles such as the Meta Trak S5 DEADLOCK E-TEC.

Specialist Trackers UK supplies and installs Thatcham-approved tracker and immobiliser systems nationwide. Installation is always included in our price with no hidden fitting charges, and our engineers come to your home, workplace, or dealership so there's no inconvenience on your part. We work primarily with the Meta Trak and ScorpionTrack brands, both of which are fully accepted by UK insurers.
What I'm here to do in this section is be genuinely useful. I want to answer questions, share what we're seeing from an installer's perspective on current theft methods, and help members make informed decisions about protecting their vehicles. I'm not here to hard sell. If someone asks me a question and the honest answer is "your current setup is probably fine," that's what I'll say.

The vehicle security landscape has changed dramatically in the last three to four years. Relay attack, CAN bus injection, OBD hacking, these are real and widespread threats that factory security simply wasn't designed to handle. I'll be posting a detailed breakdown of exactly how each method works and what actually stops them shortly.

In the meantime, if anyone has questions about their current security setup, insurer requirements, or anything else, feel free to post here or drop me a message directly.

Steve
