Has anyone found a way of displaying tyre temps and pressures on the dash for an 8Y facelift? The image below is from the Audi UK website, but I cant find a way of showing them.

Tyre pressure

ETA: Googling suggests UK cars don't get proper TPMS and it cant be retrofitted due to SFD2.

Yup will need retrofitting as FL doesn’t use direct sensor based TPMS, crazy on a 65k car.

Indeed. I had a similar reaction. It seems that UK cars don't get proper TPMS with real live pressure and temp data, but rely on the ABS wheel speed sensors to detect if a wheel's rotation rate suddenly increases, as the tyre has deflated, to then throw a warning.

As to why, don't know. Cost? If so, just make it a cost option. Happy to pay. It can't be retrofitted due to the SFD2 lockdown, whereas pre FL 8Y could be retrofitted (albeit not as a manufacturer approved option).

Yes, can confirm it's listed as 7K1 on the spec sheet that I got, which is the ABS based one. Over £70k for the Vorsprung and Audi cheaps out on the TPMS! I'm genuinely quite p----d off. At this rate I'm going to cancel the order & get an M2

Yes 7K3 is proper TPMS. Why it's not available as a cost option in the UK, like other markets, remains a mystery. Plenty of other brands offer proper TPMS with radio frequency appropriate for the jurisdiction. Also we cant get Homelink, VC2, no problem in the EU.

Between that and the steering wheel I'm starting to think that the pre FL RS3 would be a better bet. None in the approved used list though - the only python yellow Vorsprung RS3 which is newer than my S3 is a post FL model, possibly a demonstrator as Jan '25 plate and only 2.8k miles. I'd normally say "not the right time to be looking" but thinking about the 5 month delivery time I've been quoted there's no particular reason to think that there will be loads of trade-ins coming through in April.

Looking at some of the Aussie reviews they get the full TPMS, grrr.

what does the retro fit entail for both the pre and FL 8Y (UK spec).. the sensors in the wheels obvs, but is there another box to be added somewhere, or is everything actully there and just needs enabling once sensors are in?

Yes the valves with TPMS in the wheels, a sensor box and wiring loom, coding to activate it.
With all SFD2 cars, it can't (readily) be done.

Unlike many manufacturers nowadays, Audi is famous for not including anything to their cars that's not necessary for the ordered spec. TPMS sensor box won't certainly be there by default.

Did this on my 8V
Sensors, small ECU that sits under the rear right just forward of the exhaust pipe and some coding in the gateway module.
