Bought the car , 4 years or so ago at 62k miles. Re-tyred it with at set of Goodyear F1, 40 section tyres. These have been excellent, (with some care on full lock).. However the time has come to prepare the car for sale, thus my thought to bring things back to standard. Newly MOT'd, at 71k miles the existing tyres are fine as far as wear is concerned.

Question is: should I re-tyre the car on 35 section tyres or not? If a re-tyre, then what tyre do you suggest? Does it make financial sense to put £800 worth of new tyre on the car? Is it a better idea to put an economy set of tyres on and let the new owner upgrade tyres, should they wish to? Or leave the car as it is?

Just so enjoying the car: Yes it's pampered a bit, but sees full use on the roads and motorways of the UK. Just brilliant fun as far as an olde bloke is concerned. Be sorry to get rid, but little choice in the matter. Fully serviced, fully documented history whilst in my hands, I will put it on the forum in a couple of months or so.

If you're selling and the tyres are ok, I'd leave it. If the buyer wants to do something different (or says they're the wrong profile) you can negotiate on price and save yourself a load of faff
