I’ve just sold my 8y s3 and there’s a 67 plate s3 black edition for sale near me with 49k miles for £20k. Are these generally ok? Or at that miles is there lots of problems or servicing needed? I assume Haldex service but that’s not too bad to get filter done?

Many consider this year to be the sweet spot, most issues ironed out but before the OPF. I wouldn’t really consider that to be high miles, it is top end price-wise though so I’d expect a really high spec. Biggest weak point with these is the cooling system, thermostat/waterpump is a horrible job to do yourself and not cheap to have done. The silica bags in the header tank can let go too causing havoc with the heater matrix. When viewing, look for water leaks down the front of the engine and make sure the level in the header is correct both when off and running. Make sure the heaters get nice and hot through all the vents. Obviously, check service history.

It does look clean but doesn’t have the digital dash which is a shame so has old school dials

Mine hasn’t either, it’s a ‘nice to have’ but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Also, my local Audi has a 2020 35 8v black edition saloon with around 27k miles for £20k. Is that an ok price? I do like the 8v but it’s only about £4k off an edition 1 8y price wise. So not sure if it’s over priced? Audi are usually accurately priced though aren’t they.
