Hi guys,

I have noticed a very think smell from my exhaust, and at the same time I've got - what I consider - a high consumption. ~9.5l/100km (~25mpg) driving 140km/h (85mph) freeway, and city is slightly worse, ~21mpg.

I did an intake bridge clean, re-did copper seals of the injectors, sent injectors to independent shop for inspection and they all returned with great feedback.

Any suggestions I cold check? I've got VCDS if that helps

No idea what optimum fuel consumption is on Bi TDI on A6 quattro, 40mpg if yoy drive like Miss Daisy? Run a can of Forte fuel conditioner through it on a quarter tank. Are you always using premium diesel? Swap out fuel filter (every 20k miles). Any smell could be potentially be catalytic convertor breaking up, but you'd need to get camera in to see. If you've had injectors reseated and checked, then run VCDS to see if there any anomalies. I think there's a way to review fuel flow on injectors. See recent VAGTechnic video on YouTube, they replaced faulty injector on 3.0TDI and coded in a could view fuel flow in real time. EGR valves can slso gum up, so that would be advisable to check and clean too.
