Hello audi-sport forums.

Im a happy owner of a RS4 B5 from the year 2001.

I have had this car for some years, and for these years I have had a problem with vibrations from my underbody/suspension/drivetrain.

The problem occurs from 50kmh and upwards. It’s very bad around 80kmh and feels much like a pulsating kind of vibration. Once going over 110 it gets a little better, and feels less wrong (maybe because much else is able to make noises and vibrations at that speed (maybe the road too) it feels as if the vibration comes from the section around the middle to around the back of the vehicle.

Over the years I tried different things. I swapped wheels and tires, no difference. I had some aftermarket brakes installed, that was, questionable in terms of installation, so this was removed. I too had a look at my CSB, had some cracks and was a bit old looking, but was not changed.

Has anyone with a B5 Quattro had this problem?
If so, what should I try?

Thanks

That’s a beautiful looking car. However it’s getting old, so 24 years now, so question everything suspension wise. Any vibration, I would check the centre support prop-shaft bearing. Also engine mounts and gear box mounts. Check rear diff too. Is it dry, no weeping at drive shaft seals or the prop seal?
