Hi guys, I have a problem as my car was hit and it damaged the plastic cover of the LED Matrix headlamp (left). The main problem I am having is that this happened in Poland and it is extremely difficult to have this replaced as the official audi dealership will not take a UK Spec car in for repairs. 8W0941783 is the part number for my car but the EU spec is 8W0941783A. Are they the same? Worst case scenario is if they are, I can have this put into my car and if the actual light works, I will have it coded in the UK to the correct spec.

I would imagine that they are set up with beam patterns specific to which side of the road they're designed for, hence the different numbers. I know that you can select in the MMI for switching the headlights for driving on the other side of the road but I think that only flattens the beam rather than changing the 'kick' side if I remember correctly. Plus when they come to recalibrate after fitting I would think that using the incorrect part number would cause issues.

I could be wrong about all that, but logically that's what I'd imagine the scoop is.

@Daggerit no you are correct that's the reason why it's the kickup that will be flat if he get's the LHD version... all he can do to speed it up is to order the part from the UK dealer and than have it send over with the fastestcourier to his holiday address. The reason why they don't want to supply the headlight is because they are very expensive so if you for whatever reason he doesn't want it than they are stuck with a headlight they can't sell at all.

My tip find one from a car that is being broken through one of the Audi specialist breakers in the UK. At least they'll be ale to send it straight out to where ever you are. So you don't have to bother anyone to get the part to fix your car.

It is only the cover that is damaged, the light still works, would it be wise to only get the covers replaced? As they are not as easily accessible i would think that any moisture inside will damage the lamp in the long run and it will not be easy to repair.

Jup, in that case, you just replace the lens... if you can find it on aliexpress or similar. That said, how OP described the problem it sounded like the insides were damaged. This is clearly not the case.
