Looking at previous generations, the differences have been quite obvious, mainly the engines in the C5 and C6 RS6s being turbocharged, and the S6 being NA. Previous RS6s may have also been wider?

However, the C7 S6 and RS6 both have the "hot-v" twin turbo 4.0L V8, and as far as I can tell, aren't that different?

Cosmetically, there is very little to distinguish it from an RS7. Some body differences, mainly to do with the front and rear bumpers, and slightly flared wheel arches.
Engine wise visually very similar, however the engine and transmission are very different internally

I mean't more in terms of the mechanical bits, such as the engine internals, the turbos, the gearboxes and differentials, the tyre sizes, the brakes, etc
