Brighter reversing bulbs

They work without a problem!!! As i expected, since they have the same resistance as a P21W halogen bulb at 26w ( same as the brake light bulbs)
here is the link again hope it works this time, i made sure i wasn't logged in to the website.

Brilliant news NP and fab pictures in the other thread, they look just what I'm after! However, that link is again error page 404.
I still can't seem to purchase anything from Ali express as it won't text me an SMS code so as I can purchase anything in my basket. Shame as I've also seem some decently priced HD puddle lights I would like for my rear doors.

Ali asks me to log in with my email - fine.

Allows me to browse and put stuff in my basket - fine.

Then when go to "Checkout", it asks me for my email again so they can email me a 4 digit code - fine.

Lastly, it asks for my mobile so they can SMS text me a code, except it doesn't seem to like my mobile number and no code ever comes so I can't progress to actually buy anything. After 3 attempts of requesting another SMS code, it locks me out for 24 hours. I may try again tonight but I've been round in circles many times now lol.

My phone is a 2017 Android, but same issue on the Ali express app which I downloaded onto my phone. I've tried the customer help chat robochat...man I get more sense out of a blunt drill bit hahahaha

Do you by chance have a link from an alternative site for exactly the same bulbs? Even ebay perhaps - may cost more but will still be cheap...

I'll have a look i didn't check eBay for them i just went and searched that brand as those other lights i showed reminded me of those maxgtrs bulbs but I needed to compare the specs...

Let me have a look if I find them, I'll put up a link.

Nope, only on aliexpress.com and alibaba.com
The latter is for b2b trades, most sellers expect volume orders... but do sometimes allow 1 item or 1 set to be sold to whoever orders them.

did it work? let's say your mobile number would be 0123-1234567 for them it will be +44123-1234567 make sure you got that part right as that will be the reason why you never get the text send.

Nope no joy, and as soon as I type +44 it straight away says number not recognised...

I've read about that on reddit... apparently, some providers block them i'm with Three. And get their messages. Which means you should be fine with EE also and all their other partners that use their network.

If you can't get it to work at all if you remove the country code as when you select United kingdom it puts +44 automatically you can try putting in the number with the extra 0 if it still doesn't work send me a PM... surely we can find a solution

Right I'm in! Thank you northpole, I wasn't changing it from US+1 as I didn't realise I could change it. :salute:
It now says UK+44 and my number without the 0 in front worked and got an SMS code in about 10 seconds.

Ok, so what exact make were your bulbs? Maybe a product number perhaps?

I just found this on AliExpress:
£16.19 | 2Pcs No Hyper Flash Led Lights P21W Car Tuning Canbus Signal Lamp 1156 BA15S PY21W BAU15S T20 7440 WY21W Amber Yellow 12V

This should work since i used the sharing option from the app (since nothing else worked)
PS make sure you select the PY21W bulb and colour WHITE
you can order as much sets as you want starting from just 1 set... the more you buy the cheaper they will be.

@Charlie Farley, just create an account mate and browse the website/app... you'll find a lot of little upgrades ( like the logo projectors, even carparts from proper brands like NGK, BREMBO, BOSCH etc etc etc)at good prices.

They even do OEM parts but still cheaper than buying from the dealer (and they do come in OEM boxes, I got a few bits and bobs for the Vectra C back in the day that were discontinued, yet the Chinese factory still delivered them from stock)

Thanks Northpole, do you have a link for the actual ones you got though?
:icon thumright:

Did it work? It works on my phone and all laptops including all my browsers (which i got 5 off all with different levels of restrictions 1 is standard)

Just seen your review / photo on there :icon thumright:
I did that so you would see it and know those are the ones i went for... that's why i used the exact same photo ;) and mentioned the car brand and model it works on without a problem for others if they happen to look at them out of the blue.

Now i noticed all the bulbs in the holder are the same type... i might just get a load of them and replace all the bulbs in the rear light clusters... will be a very bright affair maybe to bright lol but will get some more and see what happens when i put them in. if it's to much, i'll just put the halogen bulbs back

And presumably if you were to get a canbus error you'd have seen it straight away like I did on the Auxito bulbs? which work fine in the MK4....may also go for something LED brighter reverse and interior dome light for the Scoob.

yes you would see that straight away, I've had them in for a few days now, no light bulb errors and no hyper flashing... so all good, they just putout clean bright white light at 6000K.

I haven't done the interior lights at all... i might do that soon, i should have a load of bulbs for that from the vectra, i just need to pull them out of the shed as they are the same type of bulbs... saves me from buying them again. But i was looking at a LED flexible light tube for both sides of the loading area instead of putting in an LED upgrade bulb... it'll come with some faffing about with the wires but in the end it'll give way better light. Just not sure on what type is the easiest to use or robust enough to not break whilst loading stuff. I'm sure i'll soon find something that'll work just fine and will look like it came out of the factory. ( because that is my main goal, OEM+ or put in an upgraded LED bulb)

The thing is, I get the bulbs up on the page, they show £11.57 / lot - what does lot mean? Then I put them in the basket and they change to £15.49?

It's not shipping because that says free, so why the price change at the basket / checkout?

I've done it with other items that show one price, then go up in price at checkout?

added VAT and import costs, they collect it for the UK. Read the T&C's and check how the price is calculated on the order page... You still got it cheaper as the normal price is 16 pounds without VAT. I told you i got them just shy of 15 pounds that was including the added VAT and import costs. which means they gave you a smaller discount than i got but that might be because I buy from aliexpress more often and they automtically gave me a bit more off the whole sale price. (It's also why I buy every item separate unless i decide to buy the same product in volume, or when i buy some random stuff from their bundle listings)

that's whatever you selected, even if it's just 1 item, the official website is in Chinese, we are seeing the translated version in English and i think they just use a simplified Chinese to English translation tool... doesn't matter just check how many you've selected in the basket and if the description of that is what you want if it is... no problem.

PS the use of the word LOT for an ITEM isn't that far fetched as with auctions the items are reffered to as a LOT... so i can see where the mistake comes from, but than again they hope people buy in volume so the use of the word LOT makes more sense now, doesn't it?

PPS just so you know they have to add the exta VAT & import costs up to 150 pounds after that it'll be collected by UK Customs upon arrival, and that is th last thing you want as they'll match it to UK priced similar items ( which can make it double the price on VAT and than you have to pay import costs ontop of that, in such cases it's cheaper to buy in the UK)

and do you have them already? I had to go out at not to long ago at night and hen i reversed i noticed how well those bulbs actually lightup the area behind the car, i'm well impressed and pleased i got them... but i think they'll be overkill on the other bulbs... maybe they'll be a good replacement for the brake bulbs too since they only light up when the brakes are applied.

the rest if i decide to change them will have to be less bright.. So i'll soon be looking a 10W or 15W resistance LED bulbs to compare and see if they aren't to bright, again i don't want to be putting in any resistors just get a led bulb that has them build in already. So it's just a swap and no other hassle. weill let you lot know once i find something that works out of the box error and hyperflash free.

keep us posted though... because i went back to my order and noticed they were out of stock.

I may have missed these for the time being? I've managed to put a set in the basket, for only £11.52 delivered, how come so cheap?
I can't get another set for Rob as it won't let me +1 in the basket, it then says out of stock....would I still be able to buy 1 set if that's all they have left, or would it still allow me to put 1 set in the basket, charge me, and then say out of stock etc?

if it only allows you to put one set in the basket they've been waiting for you to pay for them, as i said i went back to buy a few more sets and they aren't in stock as py21w. the discount you now get is because they have added the holiday discount to it. I would buy them ASAP as soon the UK customs will be the slowing factor as they'll start having less people running about because of the X-mas period.

for others i did find a few other ones that are rated both at 21w and 26w i'm still looking for 15w versions so the lot in the rear can be swapped to be fully upgraded led bulbs... yes they are all from the same MAXGTRS brand... i'll update this topic with the variants that should work for the various postions but the indicators can be 26w also and equally as bright it won't make a difference. The brake light and the fog light can also be 26W not the position lights those need to be a bit weaker ( the reason why I'm going through the specs of their offerings... I might just put a full set together of those light and message the manufacturer to ofer them as a rear led-lightbulb upgrade package for the b7 models. they might even drop the price that way. so bare with me.

so i found this to be the exact voltages and types of bulbs used in the b7 rear light clusters:
Stop/Tail Light: P21/4W (12V, 21W/4W) - Dual filament for both functions.
Indicator (Turn Signal): P21W (12V, 21W) or sometimes PY21W (amber).
Reverse Light: W16W (12V, 16W) or W21W.
Rear Fog Light: P21W (12V, 21W).
Side/Parking Light: W5W (12V, 5W).

so the parking lights can be your regular canbus error free 5W led bulbs... the brake lightbulb might not like the one I used for the reverse bulbs as it's rated at 4W I'll have to go and do some checking, but the rest can be filled up with the 26W led bulb I posted up before....

Anyways... Now that i got it all written down, i think it's best if i send them a message to make a specific MAXGTRS led upgrade bulb package for the b7 model at a decent price... their bulbs are well manufactured and feel like a high quality like Philips/OSRAM/ etc would have on offer.. it does kinda show it with their pricings too but if they would do a set maybe the overall price will drop.

Also for people that can't wait before i get to hear back from the manufacturer, you've got all the info you need regarding the type of wattage resistance is expected back by the canbus system in our cars so you can easily find the right ledbulbs for your car. Just check the above ;)

PS my reverse bulb is a PY21W straight pinned bulb...

This is not the same as in my car and says so in my 2006 manual. All bulbs are 12V/21W single filament, except for the H7 dipped and main. I had trouble with double filament in the tail lights, that I'd put in; they worked partially but were dim. If I recall correctly the double filaments have slightly uneven pin heights, whereas the singles the same; the doubles will work but don't sit properly in the holders. I tried this again recently when I bought both types at the local garage. I have the front older amber indicator headlights too, so they are identical there as well.

I'm thinking of getting some much brighter led rear fog light though for those blaady new SUV led heaqdlights that blind you now!

i found the same in my car ( read my other post above) it's why i pointed out that the reverse bulb i replaced is a py21w (21w) but officially ( elsawin data) that is what is listed ( unless i pulled it from the b6 model as my year 05 is the year they swapped over and up to a certain chassis number 400 something it changes, i might have pulled the wrong data bare with)
so i used that info. I'll go and pull the bulbs in the hatch to make sure but i recon i'll find the same thing too. but i do think that the position/parking lights are of a lower voltage i just need to buy some cheap ones to check if they'll cause the bulb out error/hyperflashing to happen. If they do I'll change the found data above. As i thought maybe someone just put in the wrong type of bulbs but since the car doesn't bother giving it to much power they worked just fine. Something (and you) tells me they are all the same. But i haven't checked it properly myself.

Thanks for pointing it out... that means i was right in the first place... but i need to pull those other bulbs to make sure. if they are all P21W they'll all be rated at 21W. since they'll al be single fillament bulbs (as i found on the main part with the indicators, brake, reverse, position/parking bulbs. Now for the 2nd part, the lights in the hatch. I do hope they are all the same, it just means I'll have to get the manufacturer to create packages that have the right amount of bulbs for the complete car ;) at a discounted price since a package will consist of at least a set of 10 bulbs... to go full led upgrade bulbs.... 4 of those bulbs can be amber... but not sure if it'll need more. I need to go and pull the hatch bulb holder out.

right so i did another heck for my own sanity:

the complete rear light clusters all have the same type of bulbs on my avant 10 ( but added 2 extra for the front indicators) in total 12 bulbs of which 4 are amber the rest is white but all rated at 6000k and 26W.
type i asked for:
P21W /382/BA15S/1156 with straight pins.
the one i have for the reverse lights = PY21W and has straight pins too (don't really noticed a difference other than making sure and asking if they have the pins set at 180 degrees from one another)

anyway email is sent to the manufacturer to make a kit for the b7 audi a4 models consisting of the 12 bulbs all rated at 26W resistance, so the canbus doesn't read them as non working bulbs, and no hyperflashing will happen. and 4 of them being amber.

will have to wait and see what reply i'll get back from them.

got a reply back they don't sell themm as sets for secific cars and they won't do it... meaning buy the bulbs at the prices we quote or f- off... they did however send me the bulbs that are all straight pinned with the same specs... white and amber ... I'll put that up later on. But as i said they won't be doing a package...

so be ready to spend for 12 bulbs if you want to go full Led upgrade bulbs at 6000k and 4000l (amber bulbs are equally as bright)

the ones i got and found them to work properly (i bought 1 set of white PY21W for the reverse lights, note they are straight pinned)
£15.97 | 2Pcs No Hyper Flash Led Lights P21W Car Tuning Canbus Signal Lamp 1156 BA15S PY21W BAU15S T20 7440 WY21W Amber Yellow 12V

the first alternative: ( also all straight pinned both P21W and PY21W)
£26.84 | 2x BA15S BAU15S P21W PY21W 1156 7440 W21W LED Light Bulb S25 Canbus Error Free No Hyper Flash Amber Yellow Turn Signals Light

the second alternative: (also all straight pinned both P21W and PY21W)
£25.82 | 2x 1156 BA15S P21W Bau15s PY21W LED Canbus No Error/Hyper Flash T20 7440 W21W LED Indicator Bulb Car Turn Signal Light Amber

prices in pounds are listed, just FYI the 2 alternatives are rated at 28W.... so might even be brighter than the first one, up to you to check the specs, and how much money you want to spend. it'll be 2 sets of amber bulbs (indicators) and 4 sets of white bulbs...

just looking at the prices i'd say get the ones i got they work absolute problem free.
