Recently left my car parked up and the battery has become completely flat. Using the key in the door doesn’t unlock the vehicle. I used to have a central locking leak to I’m assuming the system has lost all vacuum - I didn’t think this would stop manual opening of the door. The boot lock seems to be broken, also.

My current plan is to take the wheel lining out and see if there’s a way to open the bonnet and recharge the battery. Does anyone know another way to enter without breaking any glass?

The car should open manually as I have opened mine with the battery disconnected when working on it have you tried the key in both directions?

Aye. Tried turning the key in both directions but nothing happens - I’ve opened the car before with low battery and key and it’s always worked.

Strange one I've just opened the bonnet on mine to check for any access you maybe able to go through the plenium chamber as the gap looks like you may be able to get a coat hanger of similar on it.

Thanks mate - appreciate it. Can you see any access to the bonnet release cable?

Maybe possibly through the grill but would be a struggle one of the pics show a possibly entry point rear shot of catch.

Use the key to unlock the boot and climb through

For anyone with the same problem, here’s how I fixed it.

Problem: the locking system is electromagnetically actuated. My battery read 2.4v which was insufficient to un-deadbolt the doors.

Solution: Jack car up, remove NS wheel arch lining. Remove plastic trays under engine. Forward and up of the gearbox is the starter motor; at the top of the start motor there is a black plastic cap - remove this cap by pulling it off towards you. A (possibly) m10 post will become visible with a 13mm nut. Attach a small crocodile clip to this post. Attach a jump lead to the chassis (make sure to test for ground). Attach starter motor clip to positive of spare battery, attach negative to spare battery. Car will now have sufficient voltage to unlock.

Required:
Key
Jack
Stand
Torx set
Crocodile clip and jump leads
Way of providing 12v
